Free shipping! Thats good enough for me, im buying one now. I just need to know one thing since im going to have to replace my hotchikis stb with a umi/bmr stb. I see the red painted brace matches the the umi stb perfectly, is that the case with the red bmr stb? And vice versa with the black umi/bmr stb?

Well, maybe I can make your life easy here. I have the UMI bar, and we use the same coating that's why it matches. I have no idea/can't guarantee the color match of other braces, especially ones I don't sell.


Having said that, because I do carry the UMI line as well, I can take care of both things at the same time for you.

I cant watch a 3 minute video on this with a cell phone camera shaking around. I've got no sound usually at work and despite skipping around the video I couldn't find good before and after points.

How about a 20 second video with a stable camera showing movement with and then movement without the brace?

Every car is going to be different though. I agree that the camera is a little shaky in the video but it's best to go out and have someone push your brake pedal while watching. Mine only moved maybe a 1/4" and I still felt a firmer pedal with it installed.

Yes, not a high quality production, never claimed to be a film-maker. And the video is a video, you can see it clearly on your own car. If you tall enough, or if you raise your seat up (assuming you have a power seat) and open your hood you can often see the cap on the top of the master moving up and down.

I'll try to get a video up of the before and after for the master cylinder brace. Won't have a review of the lowering springs for a couple of months, car is on jack stands right now

Got the brace installed and I'm pretty happy with it. Definitely can feel that the pedal is firmer and the video shows that there is a no movement anymore when I press on the brakes. I did a half turn of preload on it.

The difference is even bigger with the car running because the power brakes help you push the pedal down more/harder.

Any long term users have any issue with this mod?

I'm thinking about buying but concerned that while it does indeed reduce movement of the master cylinder, it also transfers the movement of the shock towers to the firewall, through the master cylinder assembly. The towers move around under load (STB or not) and by coupling that tower to the end of a long master cylinder assembly, you are further amplifying any vibration or stress being applied.

I bought it almost as soon as it was available and have a season of daily driving, auto-x, and a few lapping days on it. No issues to report.

I've now taken my car to 2 autocross events in the past month and this made my brake pedal feel very linear and predictable under heavy braking (and I've deleted ABS). Easy to modulate between braking just enough and back off a hair when you lock up the wheels.

So the video shows it's mostly the brake booster bending and not the firewall. It will still help, so I'll be getting one. Does come in black, right. Only saw red on the site.
