Default Having cage installed... do I need SFCs now?

My car is at the chassis shop having a wolfe racecraft weld in mild steele 6 point cage installed. The guy that owns the chassis shop told me that I probably wouldn't need subframe connectors after he finishes installing the cage. I'm REALLY REALLY worried about weight on the car and if I can get by without having to install the SFC's, it would be great. What do you guys think? The chassis guy told me that the 6 point cage being welded in will provide alot more stability against chassis flex than the SFC's will.
Thanks

He is correct ... a 6 point welded cage will offer significant rigidity as compered to SFCs

The combination of the 2 will add even more.

However, the SFCs can be added later with little effort.

I suggest you wait and see if you need them ...

I've got both. I put the cage in first, and then went with SFC's later. The car seemed tighter, and more solid after the SFC's were installed.

I'm not really concerned with if it feels tight in the turns. I just don't want too much flex when launching. I drag race the car only.

So, what does it take to get a solid chassis in these cars?

They seemed quite stiff to begin with. And if they were 45% stiffer than 3rd Gens, that's a hell of an improvement. With SFCs the size and design of the SLPs, I *think* it feels tighter, but don't really have a base line. And am worried of the effect I once heard Mitch mention "I spend a lot of money, so it must be good". lol

But now you guys are saying that even a cage isn't enough? That SFCs will actually provide some benefit over that? Seems like chasing the horizon. IDK, I just have a hard time beleiving that these cars, or cages themselves even, are that weak.

And it sucks because I'm terrified of chassis flex, because chassis flex = metal fatigue. And that = a used up car.

You need subframes anytime you install a 6 pt. You need to think of your car as bridge. When you install a 6pt. you have the top of the bridge. You need the subframes to complete the bridge. Plus they give support to the lcas.

I'd think if you're putting down enough power to require a cage, the SFCs would already be in.
