Default best deal on brakes

I need front and rear rotors and pads, want something that won't warp after 6,000 miles. What is the best deal that I can get sent to me in a weeks time?? Thanks for the info if anyone has any.

Brembo OEM rotors and Hawk HPS pads.
You can get them from TireRack for about $374 shipped in a couple days.

Also, "best deal" is subjective.

The price must have gone up.... I only paid $374 and change shipped a few months ago.

If you want cheaper, you can get AutoZone/Duralast rotors.

Your rotor warped at 6K miles? Is it a drily driver or a track car. If it's a daily, then it is sort of your fault they warped. When you get rotors hots you need to drive around to let them cool instead of parking. You can get a rotor glowing red hot and as long as it cools back down correctly it will be fine. If you just stop and leave it, it will cool wrong and warp. Just something for you to think about.

The pads appear to be the same price, the rotors look more expensive.

Here is a comparison:
Brembo Rotors F/R from TireRack:..... $278 + shipping
Duralast Rotors from AutoZone:........ $201.96

Hawk HPS pads from TireRack:.......... $143

I dont know which AutoZone-available pads to recommend.

I just went to their site and checked: 338.00 + shipping.

If thats rotors only (which it appears is the case), how is that any cheaper when its $110 more?

So I opted to go to Tirerack and just buy the front brakes at this moment, got the brembo replacement blanks with Hawk HPS pads....Just checked out the rears and they don't necessarily need to be replaced just this second. Supposed to be driving to Florida from NJ in 2 weeks, figured I would save some of the money for the firkin gas I'm going to be spending getting there, HAHA!

Talk to you guys later

all of you must be related to Bill Gates!
$36.99 ea from AutoZone. Many many on here have had nothing but success with these. Thay have repeatedly outlasted KVRs, etc in an AutoX weekend, not to mention their warranty.
BTW, mine were warped by 4k, and cracked by 11k!

What the hell is that supposed to mean? Is that a rich joke/crack? $374 is not a lot of money for a good set of rotors and pads for all four wheels shipped to my door.

What is $36.99?
AutoZone sells more than one kind of rotor and pad.

The stockers or the KVRs?

Rotors. The $36.99 rotors, which are the only ones listed at AZ have withstood coutless laps from many on this board. Unlike the KVRs. Why waste the extra$$ on a rotor taht isn't even as good? I wish the search feature worked on this board, since there are like 15 active threads of "which rotor should I get?" and 5 "How do I use Corvette Rotors?"
My STOCK GM rotors warped and cracked at a very early age. I'll be upgrading to stock C5 rotors and pads with the LG brackets, tahnks to my friend upgrading his C5 brakes, and giving me his 5k old parts.

Brembo front rotors and PBR MetalMaster pads. $194 for the front setup, which is likely all you need. Unless the rear rotors or pads are in need of replacement, don't.

The Brembo's are well proven to be very resistant to warping. They use a very high carbon content and are also more durable than cheaper rotors. The PBR pads are Australian. Not many know of them, but you will when you look at you calipers and find they make them (along with the calipers on C4, C5, C6 Vettes and Mustang Cobra and Bullitts too). The MetalMaster compound was the OEM pad on the 88-96 C4 Vettes too. And we know Vette guys want clean, quiet and effective. Not bad on the dirt, stop very well, and don't break the bank either.

I run Brembo/PBR's on my car.
