Default Creeking sound from rear

Hello

In my 95 Z28 I have this out of control creeking sound coming from the rear end. It happens whenever I drive around or when I make a sharp right turn. The noise sometimes goes away when I lube everything down underneath my car but then it usually comes back within a week or two and gets really loud. I never had this problem until I got in my accident and the rear of my car hopped a curb pretty hard. I had to replace the panhard bar, rotors and the left side axle shaft. If someone could give me some ideas on what my problem could be I would appreaciate it.

Thanks,
Chris

What kind of panhard bar (bushings?) did you get as a replacement? Also, your swaybar bushings might need replacing.

Sway bar bushings will want lubrication, I have had
good luck with the moly/graphite engine assembly
lube.

Get under it and bounce / sway it and you should be
able to pinpoint the source by ear.

Jimmy knows whats going on. Thats the best way to figure out where it is coming from. Also don't forget to check your swaybar endlinks. Since it goes away and comes back, I think that it could be a bad bushing or bad lube. Just follow Jimmy's advise.

Chris i have the same problem on my 99 T/A. Everytime i pass over a speedbump, a dip, uneven pavement....makes a terrible creeping sound. I replaced the shocks thinking that would be the fix, but its still there. So you guys think its the swaybar bushings eh?

Finally got that annoying sound fixed. As you guys said, it was the swaybar bushings. Moly/Graphite grease worked very well Thanks guys

Default Squeaking bushings

Had the same issue on my 99vert. GM said there was a TSB on the issue and the "fix" was to use teflon tape around the sway bar where the bushings rode. I just used grease. Squeaking gone.

I may try that when I install my FSB I'll probably use the grease and teflon tape. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

WD-40 will make it worse over time. I was fortunate to find that grease where i work. We get it from an industrial distributor, i would check at pep-boys, autozone, napa. Surely one of those would have it, or something similar.

I just used whatever grease I had laying around in the grease gun; solved the problem perfectly. My buddy did the same on his TA. It seems like all birds go through this at some point in their lifetime.

Not to be the contrarian but I think it's not the best idea to use petroleum based lubricants on rubber bushings. Petroleum degrades rubber over time.

As mentioned, GM recommends teflon tape. I bet teflon paste or grease would work fine too.

Before reading this I addressed the creaking noise in my car by applying silicon grease to the front and rear swaybar bushings. It did the job and i know silicon will not harm the rubber. But after reading this I would go with teflon tape as per GM.
