Default simple question, which rotors will give me better performance

yeah this topic has bin dicussed over and over, ive searched through past threads and still havnt got a clear answer.

which rotor will give me better stopping performance? ill be running hawk pads on whatever i get, that seems to be the one of choice. im staying away from cross-drilled rotors becuase of how manny stories ive heard of them cracking, and of how they dont even make a difference if you run the right pads. i run my car pretty hard at the track and on the street and would like a little better performance than stock.

Brembro slotted, Brembro Blanks, or Powerslot rotors?

any advice would be helpfull

no matter what brand rotor you get, make sure they're blanks, because the risks outweigh the benefits of the "rotor pattern" designs.

I agree, and its the pad compound that has more to do with it than anything else.

If you want cheap:
Brembo OEM blank rotors (Or AutoZone DuraLast)
Hawke HPS pads

The Brembo OEM blanks and Hawke HPS pads are available at TireRack (a Sponsor).

I have that setup and I bought it from TireRack.

There are plenty of other options (bigger rotors, more aggresive pads, different calipers) but the prices start climbing quickly.
(Note: Slotted/Drilled are for looks.)

If you want larger rotors without going to the cost of a Big Brake Kit, you can upgrade to Corvette 13" front rotors. You will need relocation brackets for starters (to move the calipers outward to accomodate the larger rotors) and possibly other items (pads/calipers?). Do a Search on the Corvette Brake conversion and you'll find plenty of info.

Also, replace (and upgrade) your Brake Fluid while you are at it.

For improved braking with stock size rotors:
* More Aggressive Brake Pads
* Sticker Tires
(Tires are your car's contact to the ground.
Sitckier tires will shorten braking distances as well as improve handling.)

Also....
* As mentioned above, Brake Pads are a bigger player in braking performance than rotor brand.

I agree the brake lines make a hugh difference, I wasn't impressed when I change to the hawk pads but after the brakelines it was all over.
