Bilstein HD'S
I have stuck springs, Bilstein HD's Strano 35mm front, 22mm rear.
LCA's... car handles like a go kart, front schocks fine , but the rears hit really hard. Fine on highway, but rough road... kidney buster.
Does'nt Bilstein carry a non HD.
Or do I have to go to something like a Koni for the rear?
They hit like there's no schock...hard
Really pissing me off... thought HD's wrere the way to go.
Any thoughts really appreciated...
Thanks
So if it feels like no schock... defective schock?
Aslo getting a hitting noise on passenger side over bumps

You can't blame the shocks until you know it's the shocks. And it's not the shocks, I'm sure of that.
And SLP's rears are exactly the same as the HD rears, not touched in any way.

if you have aftermarket springs you need to get bilsteins that are factory replacements for the rear of third gen camaro's(no BS) or call Sam Strano.
i found this out the hard way because i had HD's on the rear or my lowered SS and the rear hit HARD over bumps too; like something was broken, but i did a bunch of checking around and this ^ is what i found. good luck.
If they are 4th gen, the you need 3rd gen. Hd's or revalves.
This is just my opinion, Sam could tell you much more, call him he is VERY knowledgeable about suspension.
I had the 4th gen HD's on my car (before i talked to Sam about what he recommended) and my car seemed to hit bumps rock hard as well.
Well I have some Koni SA's back there now, and the ride is more controlled, less bouncy, yet smoother !
I think what was happening was the HD's were not damping at a fast enough rate on the bump, and letting the rear axle to contact the bump-stops a lot.
Look on your rear axle where the rubber bump stops will contact it. I bet there is a nice clean spot there because it's been bottoming and hitting those constantly.
