Question Cutting 1/2 Coil on SLP Eibach Springs = What?

Last spring (2005), TrackBird and Pimpmaro came over to help me install my SLP Eibach lowering springs.

It's been over a year now since I got them installed. The rear settled down about 1 - 1 1/8 inches (Perfect) and the front only settled down about 5/8 of an inch from stock height.

Kevin (Trackbird) said that I could cut a half coil off my front springs. Would that give me another 1/4-1/2 drop? Do you cut the top or bottom of the coil?

I like the way it drives and feels so I don't want to get other springs, just want to "fix" the front SLP springs.

2/3 of a coil was an additional 1/2" of drop on the fronts.

It's been three and a half years since I did it, I'm afraid I don't remember which end I cut.

I've got whatever Eibach springs came with the old SLP Level 1 suspension kit. I'd assume they're the same SLP Eibach springs you're talking about.

You'd have to cut the bottom. It will fit in the perch, but it will not have the extra coil on the bottom to stabilize it. Let me look at a spare set I have and see if it looks like we can cut them and get what we want out of them and still get them on the perch.

Just put the turbo kit on it. The extra weight will bring it down

I keep going back and forth now, Turbo Kit or Big Cubes.

As of right now, Big Cubes. It's cheaper, easier and I can spray a 150-200 shot on top of it as needed.

Well, I did drive a 510+ RWHP SS with a 402 LS2 in it this week. It's not a bad way to go.

Nothing yet, but I have a chop saw at home and I know it will do the job with a bit of work.

Old thread but I am thinking about cutting my fronts this weekend and was wondering if anyone ever did this. If so how much did you cut and how is the ride.
