Has anyone had this problem with a new Trans AM?
2002 trans am ws6 with 3,000 miles. Front brakes are pulsating already. I have not hit the brakes that hard. Is this another problem with Pontiacs? Are they bad rotors?
Thanks

Common condition on the F-bodies and seen also on the C5's. Gently but firmly go see the Dealer and "require" them to solve the ongoing known issue. Get your record keeping shop in order so that if the problem is not fully resolved, meaning that you don't expect to keep returning for recurring trouble of the sort, that you have some firm recourse. I think that common Lemon Law verbage gives three try's and if lasting solutions are not provided then you have solid negotiating ground to stand on. I've not heard of anyone taking all the preliminary carefully documented steps to really push up to the top on the brake rotor shortcoming. It would be interesting to see if all bases were covered and the problem were not solved by GM if you could force GM to pony up with some $$$ to go toward an aftermarket solution or at least provide the GM Durastop rotor in place of the stock part. Good luck and keep us posted if you decide to be a "thorn" in their side.

I went this morning to Carl Black to get mine turned, don't use Carl Black!!!!!!! THEY SUCK!!!! I was told by their "tech", this was a common problem and most likely it was MY fault, implying I am hard on my car, which I am not. They said it was common due to hard stops and basically ******* of the car. Needless to say I have a call in to the GM of Carl Black...I keep ya'll posted on the solution!

P&DZs had a good point on the record keeping! You been there done that??? I have but not for this problem but it sounds has if you had experience.
Min has been doing it since around 2500-3000 miles but only when they get warmed up after a few long but not hard stops. I haven't ever tested my brakes to see how well they stop and use the tranny to slow me down to a degree but not downshifting so the motor revs to 400 grand just gradual downshifts.
After the hassle I had and the damage to my fender tabs I will not be takening mine back to the dealer for the rotors. A few friends recommended (who had the same problem) to take the stock rotors and have them turned then get a pair of say ACDelco duratop pads and you should be set for another 25,000 miles.
However if you have the time to waste go and do what P&DZs said. Remeber that it will take 3 times and then you file the defect notice which gives them a 4th and final try. After this only only after this will you be able to mention lemon law and maybe get GM to pay $$$ for a aftermarket setup..Good luck!
I'm planning on Baer eradispeed or powerstop rotrs in the near future. Right now I'm going to leave it alone until I notice a bad pulsating or it doing it all the time.

Brembo OEM replacement rotors from tirerack.com are $61.00 each. I put them on my 2002 Z28 with Carbotech Panther Plus pads....no warp, stops great. I took mine to the dealer for warped rotors and they "didn't find anything wrong with it"...go figure. You may want to give the brembos a try (great rotors and far less expensive than "slotted-this" or "eradi-thats"). These may help you guys out...they helped me.
