Default What tires to buy?

Ive gotta a SS...look at my signature...I want to get some tires that last and have good traction. I cant punch my car right now without spinning the wheels and it makes me so mad. I cant even mess with anyone on the road cause all it does is spin. I lose too much time when I spin the wheels. I plan to buy a pair of racing wheels with some et streets, but thats later on. Give me the brand and style that I should get. Ive got 275/40/17's right now, let me know, thanks.

If you look closely....I was going to put them on my car, but Im thinking of holding off on them and buying me a set of racing wheels and throwing a set of et's on them. What I was wondering is...what tires I need to put on them for everyday use. I dont drive it very much, but I want the tires to last fairly long and have good traction. I was looking for the best sticking tires with the longest tread life. Ive got bald goodyear hp's and they dont hold up. I cant punch it without spinning. I want a good street tire that will bite and last, thanks.

For an everyday tire, I've been having great luck with the Bridgestone RE730. Night and day between them and the stock Goodyear F1s. Depends on how much you want to spend I guess. Kumho MXes look really good, I might get those next. Yokohama AVS Sports, Goodyear DS3 or GS3 or whatever the hell, Firestone Firehawks, and BFG KD/KDWs are all good choices.

Do you have a specific? Tell me the best in your opinion...I want them to last, while having good traction. I dont even have the F1's, theyre the HP's. I want them to bite and last. Thanks

C'mon guys and gals...I only have 2 days to decide. I need to know what tires I should buy for my car. I want them to bite while they last. I dont want to buy a 10k mile tire, but then I dont want to buy a 50k mile tire that doesnt hook for ****. Thanks

Yokohama AVS sports suck. Mine still have plenty of tread left on them but absolutely no traction. I so far like the Sumitomo HTRZ II I have on front an am planning on trying them out in back as well. It all depends on how much your looking to spend. You could spend anywhere from $110-$270 per tire.

Do they get good traction? I dont plan to do burnouts...I just dont want to spin the hell out of them messing around on the road. I cant even mess around with anyone on the road because all it does is spin. I cant race anyone with that, Ill lose because of the spinning.

If you have as big of a problem w/ traction as you say you are, you just need to get an 11 inch rim w/315 nittos and put more rubber on the ground

I dont want to buy another set of rims unless theyre racing wheels and I wont do that until later on down the road. I want the same size tires for it, maybe a little wider, but thats it. I dont want to put Nittos on it because I dont want to be buying new ones every 8,000 miles. I want the best sticking tire that lasts the longest. Thanks.

my michelins perform awesome on dry or wet conditions, i never tried to leave Really fast from a stop sign with them(coz sure thing they won't hold), but it seems to me they give you a pretty good traction

You think the KD grips better than the Victoracer or A032R? I would rank them:
1. Kumho VictoRacer V700
2. Yokohama A032R
3. BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD
4. Kumho Ecsta MX
5. Firestone SZ50 EP

The Kuhmo and Yokohama are DOT approved, but not really a suitable street tire. They are a true competition tire. The KD is an awesome (and expensive) street tire, but that is what it is.

The Nitto 555RII would be between the A032R and KD for $150 a tire. They won't last as long as the KD's, but the pair of them you can buy for one KD will last longer and grip better.

Get the BFG G-Force KD. They are probably the best gripping tire in dry weather.

Whats the difference between the Nitto NT-555R and the Nitto NT-555RII? Which one lasts longer and which bites harder? I want a good sticky tire thats going to last longer than 10k miles as the Nitto drag radials do. Ive gotten so many opinions on tires, please...someone else give me your opinion. So far Ive got....

1) BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD
2) Yokohama A032R
3) Firestone SZ50 EP
4) Kumho VictoRacer V700
5) Kumho Ecsta MX
6) Michelon Pilot Sport
7) Sumitomo HTRZ II

anything else.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> going tomorrow afternoon to get them.

I agree with "98" <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> he has them ranked a little differentley than I did !

I went solely by order of traction action ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

The Nitto 555R is the DR ! They will give great traction, but on my Z they did not last past 3 months or 4,500 miles ! I drag/street race daily ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I'd go with the BFG KDs or the Michelin Pilot Sports. Good luck.
