Default Which way to drilled/slotted rotors face?

I took my car to a shop because of a loud squealing whenever I turned left. It's been happening since before I changed my pads/rotors, in fact it was the reason I changed them, hoping it would fix them.

Well anyway, the shop didn't fix the problem, they didn't even mention it, but they said my rear pads were too hard, and my rotors were on backwards.

Now when I put them on I thought they were backwards but I didn't think it would make a difference.

What way do you have them on? This is the way I put them on.

(don't mind the crack in the fender )

Should I switch them around? Or will it not make a difference?

You install them according to the directional vented vane of the rotor itself.

What? I dont understand. Do you mean these vents inside the rotor?

They don't seem to be facing any direction from what I can tell with the wheels on.

If the cooling vanes are non-directional. (yes the item you have pointed out) Then
the install is backwards. The grrove is going to be tough on pads.I always install so the center part of the rotor groove hits the pad first.

It looks like it dosent really matter I run Brembo rotors and the od veins point backwards so the rotor can pull air from the center out.. Mine only have grooves not venting and going off what I have seen those pictured are correct P.S those AP's pictured are weak... you need to step up to the 332x 1.500 72 vein rotor and the 6 piston 8542 caliper and some mintex F2's haha just kiddin I have hung up the gear and tranny bit to become a brake system specialist....I prefer gear oil to brake fluid

Yeah, technically yours are on backwards, but they match mine. Lol. Since it looks like you have the same rotors I do, I will tell you I haven't noticed any negative effects of running them that way. I have autocrossed my car and drag raced at a few events and there is still no vibration from warping. Sadly, all the cross drilled holes are cracking(as all cheap crossdrilled rotors will), but that is my only complaint. But basically since the rotor veins are non directional they will still work as intended. Now if you have directional veins, that are angled inside, if they are backwards it will cause a build up of heat.

It depends on the manufacturer. You should follow the specific instructions of the manufactured for your rotors.
