My brakes after I have them on for a second or two and try to press harder feel like I'm stepping on a sponge. I really have to give it some pressure to get more brake. Like they heat up and the gas between the rotor and pad is stuck and I have to try and power through it. What can I do to fix this? Am I making sense?

Any and all speeds. Getting off the highway at 70 last night. The ramp is about 1/4 mile long and by the time I was at the bottom and doing maybe 35-40 I put them on and it was spongy. Takes about 5 sec of being on the brakes to get this no matter the speed.

Had this happen to me a long time ago with my 2000 Grand prix GTP.
I had brake brake pulse & took it to the dealer.
They turned the rotors down got rid of the pulse but I had major brake fade.
Had to replace the rotors & brakes.

If it is normal (hard) at first and it then leans towards spongy... I'd say you have a vaccume leak in the booster.
Its either that or your pushing fluid past the piston in the master itself. If it were air by itself it would be that way constantly.

Well I'm not suggesting that you drive without power brakes for good, only to see if the booster is the problem. And FWIW you can drive around without power brakes and they work fine, the pedal is just a lot harder to push. I'm just curious if they'd still be spongy without the booster on there.
