Default UMI K-member Installed

I finally got a day to install some of the new parts I've aquired for the replacement car. (I slid into a pole sideways at 35mph in the car in my sig & totaled it) This UMI stuff is sweet! Light, strong, pretty, & bolts right in - ALL the holes line up.

Thanks to Sam for the nice deal. With luck I'll get the spindles & brakes on it today so I can drop the car down to roll it outside so I can pull the dash & delete the HVAC unit.....

And that damaged the K member? Ill hafta take a look at mine closer because my car got totalled when the owner of it at the time pulled out in front of someone and got hit in the front. The frame was bent 4+ inches in, so i might need to replace it. SOrry to hijack, just got me thinkin about it.

Good to hear it all worked out, and that the fit was right on the money (not that I'm suprised).

Enjoy, and thanks!

Nice. Looks like double adustables and the road race K-member. Too rich for my blood!

I purchased the SA and the K-member without the extra bracing and installed them in OCT. Better luck with this ride.

Look at the link and the first attachment shows the support bar we used for my install. A friend loaned it to us.

No, but after 2 years of 10 sec passes & a 100 mile open road race with the oil reaching 300*+, it was time to take the motor in for a refresh. My tuner did his with that support bar. They work quite well.....

And I still want to know if I can add a loop to that STOUT looking UMI tunnel brace (I need one to run 10s). That is the place that crumpled after the pole hit the SFC allowing everything else to bend....the SLP part aint very strong. Sam? UMI?

if your talking about adding a driveshaft safety loop i think umi makes a tunnel brace with one connected to it already.

It looks like they have a few versions so get the right one.

I am mounting the Torque arm to the UMI relocation kit. I have a SLP DSL and compared to the the UMI tunnel brace w/ DSL it can't compare.

Not to speak on behalf of Sam but from his previous posts I thinks he rather mount the TA to the Trans *crossmember* mount instead of the tunnel brace since it is a stronger location but double check with him.

*I* prefer a transmission crossmember mount over a tunnel brace mount TA. I have a call into UMI about the possibility of doing a DSL only for those with full-length TA's. But, Ryan is @ the PRI show (or on his way), so I'll just have to wait to hear back.
