Default Manual Rack & Pinion

I have a BMR K-Member and I am looking for a manual rack and pinion.....who has the best price on one? I found one from burkhart but I don't know if its what I need because from what I saw it looked like it was about 300.00 then I saw one from BMR that was 600.00 so I don't know which one to get. Obviously I want to get the cheaper one but I want it to be a good quality one aswell. So please let me know what you guys recommend!

Thanks

Our kits are complete kits that include all the parts to do the install. We offer two different kits depending on which k member you have. If you have any questions on which one you need please give me a call.

I got the BMR unit and it's a nice piece. My only complaint is the bump steer kit requires you to weld to the rack so to align it you have to unbolt from the spindle and adjust the end link. I just got a double adjustable one from Madman so I don't have to disconnect anything. Other than that, it bolted right up and has worked great.

I'm looking to get a manual rack kit as well. . . I have my lines looped on the stock rack, but haven't driven it yet..... So considering it's my DD, I may be purchasing one soon.

The kit you have is one before the redesign the kit is now 100% bolt in. We also offer a kit to convert the factory style rack k-members over to manual steering. Both of these kits can be found here-

Looks good! Why is a manual rack harder to turn than a disconnected power rack? I just looped the lines on my stock rack (stock 17" wheels) and it is a b*tch to turn. I though the manual rack made it easier to turn...?

Our manual racks are easier to turn than a looped rack. We have a different ratio than a looped rack.

I have the madman rack with 3.5" wheels and MT front runners and it is pretty easy to turn. It is much better then when I use to run the short belt on the factory steering. I have one question though for MADMAN. I am running all Spohn up front K-member, upper and lower tube a arms and QA1R's with 275 lb springs. I had the front end alignment set for driving and the car drives good and handles good going down and slowing down after the finish line is not problem. The only thing is while the car is going down the track with the front end high under power it looks like the front tires have excessive toe in.

I know you say never have toe out so do I need to set the toe at 0 when the car is at rest since it has so much lift on it going down the track which will allow less toe in when it is going wide open down the track and the front end is lifted in the air so the tires are running as true as possible? As stated it handles great the way it is set now it just looks funning going down the track. Am I loosing ET and MPH?

It is running 10.75 at 123 NA and is a 346 CI, Heads and cam car with turbo 400, 4.10 grears and is 3,435 lbs.

Information needed! Thanks!

I would reset the toe to "0" at rest and see what happens on the alignment machine as the suspension travels.

Sorry I missed this question earlier....like Madman stated the manual rack is a different steering ratio then the factory power unit which makes it easier to steer.
