Default My car has no rake

I changed the motor out and the car raised up w/o the weight on the front suspension but when i put the motor back in it still looks level front to back. I removed alot of weight also like !airpump, !egr, !a/c but I put a turbo system in. Shouldn't that have compensated for the removed weight? Switched to 17 inch wheels up front to help close the gap between the tire and the fender, but its doesn't quite look right. Do you guys think the suspension might "settle" once I get the car running or is it even possible to get the front in a bind where it would stay raised. I just thought it had alittle bit of a rake from the factory.

Should I get a shock that can lower ride height for the front?

If you have a turbo, I'd be watching the ground clearance closely. If you want a rake, raise up the rear.

Actually I made alot of the stuff so nothing is lower than factory. If you get down and look under the front you can't even see any of the pipes. I'm building the down pipe currently and I have it running to the pass. side over the k-member.

If you haven't driven the car yet and have just put it on the ground after you drive it the car will settle some.

Also, the front springs control the height not the shocks. Unless you go with an adjustable coil over setup.

Thanks, hope it does.

Can I buy just the front springs? I think about an 1" to 1 1/4" lower would do it.

Maybe in the for sale section, most sponsors sell the set of 4. Contact Sam Strano for what you are trying to do.

Yeah, I've seen just the fronts in the sale section but never seen a sponser do it. If she doesn't change when I get her moving then I give Sam a call.

Deadman, we offer just the front springs. They will drop you car 1"- 1 1/4" and give the car a nice rake. I would wait till you get the car back on the road and are driving it again before deciding if you need them or not. The part number for the springs are SP002, they sell for $125.95 per pair.

loosen all the suspension components when its up in the air put it back down. let it settle over night and then tighten it and see what difference that makes.

sometimes things settle more when they are loose and all the cars weight is down on the suspension. lets the shocks and springs settle.
