We lost 2 brothers early this morning in a house fire in SE Houston. I'm asking that your thoughts and prayers be with the families of our fallen brothers and over the Houston Fire Department during this difficult time.

HOUSTON - Two firefighters are found dead after failing to show up for a roll call while battling a house fire in southeast Houston.
The Houston Fire Department says it was called to the home on Oak Vista Drive just after midnight Saturday. When fire crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the one-story structure.
Firefighters cut a hole in the roof to help battle the flames, which quickly spread through the attic.
The district chief decided the flames were too much and a ladder truck was put into use.
During a firefighter roll call, it was discovered two of them were missing. They were found in the home several minutes later, and CPR was attempted but were cleared dead at the scene.
Their identity has not been released.
No other injuries were reported as a resident had managed to escape the fire before emergency crews arrived.
The cause of the firefighter's death and the fire itself is under investigation.

heard about this from a friend of mine who is a paramedic in the area, what a loss. he said one of the guys that ran the call got within a couple feet of the door and his bunker jacket caught fire and his ears started burning because it was so intense.

I will be there wed night at capts wake. and thursday at the service. My dad worked with him and he will be marching. Just an FYI. I work at the credit union and there is already a account set up for both families so if anyone wants to donate they can come to any of the 3 branches
