Default Trouble Code PO157 / BBH02S22

BBH02S22 circuit condition (heated oxygen sensor bank BB2 sensor 2)

BB2. - system running very rich or lean-check other BBcodes first.
Went to Autozone and had them pull the trouble codes.

I bought two good used oxygen sensors awhile back. They've been sitting in my room for awhile.

Should I just go ahead and replace the front two oxygen sensors?

well seeing as how the code is showing for the rear O2 sensors, replacing the fronts would have no effect.

Is your car tuned?

Sensor 1 is the primarys just after the manifolds
Sensor 2 is the heated O2 sensor before the cat

Your code says sensor 2

Starting from the cylinder, sensor 2 is pre-cat and sensor 1 is post-cat?

When I said front, I meant pre-cat.

Actually the DTC codes read as follows

Bank 1 Sensor 1 - Drivers side after manifold
Bank 2 Sensor 1 - Pass. side after manifold

Bank 1 Sensor 2 - Drivers side Heated before cat
Bank 2 Sensor 2 - Pass. Side Heated before cat

Bottom line, buy some sims or have it tuned and your problem goes away

Why buy sims? I have working used oxygen sensors. I'm going to try to get those on this weekend. Are they hard to replace?

Not hard to replace. Just need a 7/8 Open end wrench and about 30 min but the codes you have dont say anything about the front O2 sensors being bad. That's why I'm telling you to just buy the sims for the rear or tune the codes out with a basic tune anyway

I think we're having a semantics problem here. When I say front, I'm referring to the ones closest to the block - PRE-cat, not POST-cat which is closer to the muffler.

that is understood but what your not understanding is that the codes your throwing are only refering to the rear O2's so why replace the fronts?

What are you talking about? It says sensor 2, BEFORE cat or PRE-cat. I'm talking about THOSE.

Its pretty self explanitory - You only have two sensors on each side right?

Front and Rear!

Like I said before, Just buy sims for the rear or tune them out! Problem solved!

shakky, its the rear o2's! get them deleted via tune.. it'll probably be cheaper to tune them out permanently than to replace them.

the front and rear o2's are different.

........with tuning you can turn them off, or buy some simms.

No it will not. Rear is just telling the PCM the Cat is "ok." Your car runs off the front o2's.
