If TEXAS shows up then they have a chance but same for Alabama, both have had games they should have lost....

In all honesty TX did not have many hard games and most were blow out's.

but TCU in the Big 12 and all of a sudden they have a harder time recruiting. look at TCU's current two deep...and you see the talent drop off. For one game, yes they have a chance at beating Texas, but they do not have a team than can hold up throughout a complete season.

Insiders hint that Mack Brown steers the recruits that we can't take to TCU because he likes the program and it keeps some good recruits off of some Big 12 teams.

I'd welcome TCU into the Big XII and get rid of either Baylor or Iowa State. BTW, Texas has beaten TCU over the last several years when they've played.

Iowa state did beat nebraska, and had some nail biters all season. It is not just a cake walk to just come in and domiate any of the more powerfull conferences that provide an upset every week. That's why Cinci (big east is no push over as is the ACC), Texas, Florida, and Bama had some close calls. Plus them getting into the big 12 does not just involve their football program. For TCU their next step is to dominate Boise, which wont be easy. This will cause alot of contraversy. We'll see what the future holds when NCAA pulls the lock on Div 1 schools.

As of now, I see the big 12 getting stronger within the next few years.

With some of the struggling programs getting better like Texas A&M, Kansas State, Nebraska, OSU, and possibly Colorado (when Cody Hawkins is gone). Texas and Oklahoma (with an off year or two) are already established in the polls. I don't think that just adding TCU is the end all for the big 12.

To the question at hand, I would say by looking at which team will win, I go with the one firing on all 8 cylinders. Bama 27 texas 21, and that's not because I'm an Aggie. I just hate the damn bowl game waiting period. Some good games coming up in FCS though.

Bama's running game is something fierce and that QB they have over there from Southlake Carroll isn't too shabby either. Hopefully, Kindle and Thomas can make a difference. Hook 'em!

If you watched both games you just mentioned, I dont see how you make the comparison. that texas/nebraska game was a sloppy trainwreck, that wasnt fun to watch. The bama/tenn game was a chess match between two great defensive minds/teams that was almost mistake free. And yes, Bama was fortunate to win that game. Bama had it on lock down at the end and saban made a really dumb coaching decision. Add that to ingram fumbling for the first time in like 300 carries in his career, and I was almost crapping my pants.

bring on the 8 team playoff after '14!!! do that, and keep the bowl games for all the other bowl eligible teams just like you always would have. how would that not make more money to line the pockets of all these jokers?

Strength of schedule is computed by a mathematical formula and there is no opinion involved. The typical method of calculating it involves taking the record of the team's opponents * 0.66 plus the record of the team's opponent's opponents * 0.33.

There is no opinion of which conferences are better, it's a numerical fact that Texas played a much tougher schedule than TCU.

UT vs Bama - hoping for a great game.

Suxs I think bama is going to romp on the horns due to the inconsistency of the horns offense showed this year. Against tough opp's this yr the offense struggled. The horns need to start early, generate td's not fg's, and create some type of running game if they want a chance.
If I was mack brown, I would let McCoy loose and start running qb scrambles similar to vince young days to open up the offense. Heisman is gone! McCoy is fast and brown needs to utilize him every way.

I don't see it happening!

Bama 31

Bama 31??

That must mean they are running for a lot of TD's because Greg won't be tearing up our defense.

As long as Colt DOESN'T win the Heisman, I say:

Texas 27
Bama 13

Bama 42
Texas 7 (on a punt return)

Texas is a good team in the Big 12, but they are Arkansas in the SEC. Come join a real conference. Saturday was a good rehearsal for McCoy in the sense of being on his *** all night. Bama does not get their stats from playing BS every week, #1 Defense my ***.

Somehow I still do not fully trust Alabama, so here's hoping for an awesome game

PS Texas lost Saturday

McElroy is a GOOD qb and he is very accurate. I hope I'm wrong but greg and ingram both will have standout games. Don't see Texas d stopping them.

Wow I came into this thread expecting to see everybody pick Texas and instead it was people arguing over TCU. TCU is dangerous to anybody for ONE GAME but they couldn't hang in the Big XII week in and week out with their depth right now. I like Texas but I think Alabama will be too physical for them and the Bama defense will be too good. Should be a fun game to watch either way.

I agree with just about everything in this statement but the score. It will be a closer game than that. Texas will score on a punt or kick off return though, that is the ONE thing that bama is lackluster at.

lol too funny.

TCU is good yes, but like has been said they are not strong or deep enough to survive an entire strong conf season. But there is no point in arguing this, arguing over the internet is retarted. Until TCU either plays tough teams or switches conf's no one will ever know and it will all be speculation

If texas is the Arkansas of the SEC, where is Arkansas in the top 25? I think a better comparison of Arkansas is that they are the Baylor of the big 12. or I guess based on conf play they would be equal to Iowa State or the aggies.

good stat's there!

TCU has a legit D year in and year out and good O, you don't have to be a genius or know much about football to notice this. The "they play in the MWC" or "their just TCU" argument is garbage and an argument for the ignorant. Boise and Utah have proved that conference afiliation means jack when you get to lineup on the field. Big12 wasn't exactly a tough conference this year and I do think TCU could have won it this year.

Baylor is to big 12 as is no one in the SEC. Vandy, Kentucky and Mississippi State can pull good seasons off ever few years.
