Default Got a public intoxication last night, best way to go about getting it dismissed?

I got a PI last night. My gf said I was mouthing off to a cop. No sobriety tests were given(i was hoping they would though), and I don't think I was told my rights. So I spent new yrs night in jail, mf sucked. Anyways, is this something I should probably get a lawyer for? Or just go about it myself? I just want to get deferred. I checked 'no contest' and was told that meant I could still get a lawyer? I really didn't understand it. Any advice is appreciated.

And ya, I learned fom it. I called my gf and told her to talk to my dad about getting out. And he said, "ah, I think he needs to stay the night in there"

Why would you have hoped they would have given you a sobriety test if you can't remember if you were mouthing off to the cop?? Alway's somone that has to act like a badass and learn lessons the hard way

I always give police respect, but I was drinking whiskey and I guess I was just in one of those moods.

And I remember talking with the police officer.

Rule #1 Don't drink and get stupid, especially with the Law!!!
Rule #2 never ever forget rule #1

Sometimes people try to defend themselves and only help the Prosecuter to bury them even deeper.

I'm beginning to think since I said no contest, that I can't "fight" it...

I saw this on a lawyers website though...

"To prove you guilty of public intoxication, a prosecutor must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you were intoxicated to the degree that you were a danger to yourself or to another. "

No tests are needed. Just man up know you made a mistake. Just make sure you learn from it. If I recall your young right?

I'm 24...

Yeah we got breakfast at about 6am. 2 old biscuits, gravy, oatmeal, and a kiddie size coffee. I had two bites of the gravy and decided not to eat anymore lmao.

And yeah, it was mf cold. Not only was it cold outside, the air coming out of the vents was ice cold. I was able to fall asleep for about 5 min. It sucks trying to use a small blanket as a blanket and a pillow.

Get a lawyer, are you serious? Just pay the fine and move on. It won't hurt you other than the wallet.
