Why is it that when someone crashes a car while racing there is always someone else to call that person a dumbass. It is part of the sport. Crashes happen. Doesn't make him a dumbass. Just makes him unfortunate. That looked like it hurt.

Because its moronic to auto x in a parking lot with curbs let alone light poles to hit if you spin out.

I believe the chrome inserts in the vents disrupted the aerodynamics and caused this wreck. This is why you don't go buy random crap off of Mid America or WCC and start piling it on your Corvette, kids.

BTW, it's a good thing homie didn't install the chrome tail light iserts because that would have caused his **** to flip over and catch fire.

I think the C6 decided to kill itself once it realized that it was being filmed with a bra on the nose, and all that chrome crap that Leo mentioned above. The car was like "Oh,HELL No!"

Auto-X is a lot of fun, don't knock it until you've done it. You can actually improve your driving skill by doing it. Something most kids don't take seriously nowadays, actually becoming a good driver in all aspects.

It's not like that would've been worse.

Looks like just as he passed the San Bernandino sign there was a pointer cone on his left, then a 2-cone gate. As he approached the gate he was carrying too much speed and he let off the throttle to slow down instead of using his brakes (the nose didn't dip), taking weight off the rear, and added steering input just as the tires lost traction. I would bet he had the electronic traction/stability controls disabled. Doesn't matter how expensive the car is if the driver can't control the vehicle... this is completely driver error.

I've personally seen an '02 SOM Z28 convertible lose control on a transition in an open parking lot, slide sideways a long distance until off the lot, slide over a fire hydrant, and slam into a concrete light pole. My friends in the car were very lucky, the pole fell on the convertible top cover right behind their heads. Both people had regularly autocrossed for years and the driver was considered quite talented.

Sounded like he downshifted and lost the rear.
