Default another any oil field jobs out there thread??!!

YUP ANOTHER ONE... im currently working for third party company name stage 3 separations , we do solids control on land based rigs. The job is ok the pay is good but the time off is fucken horrible! been out here 4 weeks going on 5 and havent gone home. They said 21 days on 7 days off well the 5 months i been working here I havent had a 7 day week off. Most people say **** it its money but dont know how it is when actually out here without seeing your family. Well anyways looking for a starting position of course like floor hand or something. I have applied to patterson and H&P already just wondering what else is out there that people know about. Most roughneck jobs are one week on one week off or two on two off which im completely fine with that. Also any off shore rigs would be good also. Thanks !

I hate to sound like the typical responder to these threads but keep an eye on rigzone.com for positions.

So in 5 months, you haven't had a day off?

I have some footage that needs to be put on YouTube.

Part of working for a service company on land, hustle hard and SAVE when you can, **** slows down on land and you'll be hurting. Not sure what Lil Keke was talking about when he said this, I am pretty sure it was directly about being a service hand in the drilling side of the oil field but, "**** them air Jordans the sky aint for ever sunny."

On another note, if you want to work two on two off and with a contractor is where you have your eyes set, off shore is the place to be. Got a lot big plays fixing to happen deep water and rigs are going back to work. Trans Ocean is hiring, Ensco is hiring, people were bitching on the last Hercules rig I was on, so I am sure they will be hiring soon. New company called Pacific in the gulf with a retrofitted-new build, you can also look in to Seadrill and Nabors. If you want to work a rotation off shore doing solids control, Baker Huges, NOV-Brandt and SWACO are places to look.

Probably because in your case they are going to start you as a rostabout and not rough neck. You got roustabouts on deck crews already who want those limited rough neck spots when they come open. Unless you have time in as a rough neck, your going to be pushing a mop, painting, and landing **** on the deck. Got to spending some time landing pipe before you can trip it. if you have a good attitude, capable of learning and can work so long as your on a good rig. If not for ever roustabout you are for life.

Halliburton is a good place to learn. Pay suxs! Was with them a while in the permian basin. I do coil and have less time off than you. Frac and cement do have better work schedules. Sanjel has better pay and works a 15/6 schedule. There is plenty of work in the eagle ford for a while. The bakken is getting there. Ive been doing this going on 10 yrs so not being home is ok with me. Rig work is ok. But the service side has more longevity

Im a cement supervisor. I made 85k last year as an operator, on track to make 120k this year. Jobs not bad, pay could be better but Halliburton looks outstanding on a resume with almost any other oilfield company.

I work in the pampa/mid con region. And ya, screw frac. If you want to be anyone in the biz you need to go to cementing, or tools.

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of pay do they give you for that bullshit? I used to work 80 hours a week, at one point 16 hours a day for 2 months straight. I stayed in for the pay at first, but then I came to the same conclusion you have.
