Default Good place to research overall durability ratings of cars?

Do you guys have a website you like to use when you are looking at cars you are unfamiliar with and trying to figure out if they are going to be problematic?

My girl is looking at a BMW, I am trying with everything I have to keep her away from german vehicles but she is stuck on that damn Mini. So to be fair I want to look at some reviews to see if they actually are problematic or not.

Any help is appreciated.

Well yes somewhat, I tried searching mini forums and I got mixed responses and it was taking a lot of time to get the few I found. Then I looked at consumer affairs but it was a negative response review system only. I was hoping for general ratings type of feedback. Where people left positive and negative feedback to get an overall rating. Does that make sense?

Mostly I want to make sure they aren't known for being absolute pieces of junk. I literally know nothing about their durability or cost of ownership and don't know where to look.

I would do some reading over here. http://minicooperforums.com/forum/

What car isn't problematic though? If you like it, just get it.

I've had my eye on the new BMW 6-series.

I know a couple people with minis and they seem pretty reliable. Find one that's been taken care of and if you feel the need you can always get a warranty for it.

My wife had a BMW for a while and it was a great car. She bought some maintenance plan so all her oil changes were free and they even replaced a timing belt once because thats what the scheduled maintenance was for that interval, and that was FREE! Im not sure what plan she had because she bought the car before I met her. It lasted a while and 1 kid. 2 kids later we are in an SUV.
