Default DFW area, recommend a Credit Union?

I'm starting to look at switching to a Credit Union. For those of you already with one, would you recommend them? I'm also interested in hearing any bad experiences you may of had with current or former Credit Unions.

Credit union of texas is who I financed my car through and they have been awesome to work with. GREAT interest rates and they were the only ones willing to issue a loan for a car that was made in 1999. I'd recommend them.

I recommend the same as foam27 (if there is a location near where you live). I got the loan for my car through Credit Union of Texas, and after having issues with Bank of America, I moved all of my money to the CU as well.

Not a CU but a few years back I switched to local bank "Inwood Bank" and have been happy with the service. I was with Bank or America for many years before.

Texans Credit Union. Been member since 1998 and have had a few car loans with them. Good rates and good service.

Haven't done daily banking with them yet, though. Just loans and savings.

Like so many others, I was almost ready to dump BofA last year when they tried to introduce the debit card fee, but then remained with them when they withdrew those plans.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I currently bank with Chase because they bought Washington Mutual a while back. I was looking at Credit Union of Texas because I've seen it mentioned here before. Just wanted to see if any others around the area were recommended as well.

Sshawk and I bank with resource one. I've been with them just a few weeks and really enjoy the service I get when banking there.

Morbid send me a Pm with your info “Cell number and Zip code” .. I can help you get a good CU around you.

Like DProck said I have my account with Resource One Credit Union... I use them because I have so many close to me.

But!!! What we need to do is find out what's closest for you and what will fit your needs. I work for Credit Unions so I can help you with whatever you might need.

Edit: I see your located in Irving..

Credit Union of Texas will be great for you!! And they have lot of location around your area.
