https://www.manheim.com/publicauctions/sales.do

In all seriousness - I have a license and access to Manheim and Carmax auctions. The cars bring more there than you can buy off the forums most of the time.

Recent Examples:

2002 Z06, 25k miles - advertised with bad differential = sale price, $25,700

2002 Lightning, 58k miles, bad tires, paintwork, pigged out = sale price, $14,700

I honestly have no idea where some these dealers sell these cars ?

Yup, a lot of the cars go crazy high, except when we try to run crap through the auctions, then it goes dirt freaking cheap. Just got back from an auction tonight, 02 Z06 38K wouldn't stay running due to a cam install and a bad tune, sold for $19,000.

I recently went to manhiem, I was astonished at what they were wanting for thier junk. True as above; you will find better deals on the forums. I got suckered and purchased a car from the auction to find out after the payment was processed that the vehicle had frame damage and a salvage title. Biggest mistake I have ever made and they didn't even disclose this information to me or allow me to look at the vehicle before purchase. Oh well, $7,000 lesson learned I suppose...

Co-part I believe requires a dealers license. They do have brokers on their website that will place a bid for you and if you do win the auction will charge a $500 flat fee.

Frame damage and a salvage title HAVE to be announced no matter what. If not, you can arbitrate it and get your money back.

Depending on what kind of car your looking for Salvation Army has public auto auctions. All cars are donated for tax write offs. Sometimes there are some decent cars but mostly lower priced running and non running cars.

You would need to check when the next one is-
http://houston.satruck.org/vehicle-sales/locations

I have purchased a few cars/boats at the Austin location. Got a great running 1993 Mercedes 420sel for $1800 and a nice v8 ski boat with a little upholstry damage with trailer for $1300.

They dont sell them. They finance them at insane rates to people with bad credit. Then, when they default, they repo them and sell them again.
