Default Sold my GTO last year but just received toll violation letter in the mail

Fortunately, I submitted the Vehicle Transfer Notification online last year, but I still have to waste my time and call TxTag.

Sounds like you left your license plates on the car when you sold it.

****. You're right. However, I indicated that in the Notification. I'm not making that mistake again. Thanks.

Yeah, they don't give a rats ***. They want their money and will go after anyone to get it. My plates come off.

Call TxTag. This happened to me. (Sold my car in January...got a toll violation notice in May). They cleared me of it over the phone. It's worth a shot.

Be prepared to spend a hour on hold. I hate calling Txtag...

I usually don't take plates off the cars I sell, but I make sure I get the full name and address of the person, so I can submit the notification online.

If/when a bill comes in, it's just a phone call to NTTA (in DFW) away to sort it out.

Yeah, guess I could take the plates off, but oh well...

I used to do that as well. I lost the receipt for when I transferred it and they made me pay it. Even though I was floating in the Caribbean when the toll happened, it still didn't matter. Plates come off now.
