Any DPS officers in here?
Does anyone know if the highway patrols have the new pop radar? Ive been pulled over twice this week and my V1 Didnt even go off. The first time I got pulled over my moms V1 was going off in her car and she was driving right next to me.

Wicked..
What the heck do you mean by, "Pop Radar?"...LMAO
If you mean instant on, Yes. Not new however, most of the DPS HP units are equipped with the STALKER SL series KA band radar. FDront & rear antenna's, instant on, and Fastest Target, same lane capability radar. Basically,...blah, blah, blah, BAD *** radar.
One extra little note, If an officer is experienced and good at operating the unit (radar) you are likely not going to have your detector go off until it's too late.
Many of the younger guys (I hate being one of the older guys) drive around shooting off the beam at everything they see. Thus...sending out signals for radar detectors to pick up. Now, if your a sneaky old bastard like me....you pick the one's you know are movin and WHAM.
Sorry, Just the facts of the job. No harm intended.
Hope this helps,
Kev

Hey K-9, did i see you lurking around the Speedway a couple months back?I saw a Camaro up there in october, and i was fixing to pull up next to him and throw out a rev, until i saw the hologram like stickers down the side saying police...It had an aftermarket hood on it, and it sounded good, so i thought it was another modded camaro.

Good idea...
Probably a good decision that you didn't....that was me. The hood you seen is an SLP Ultra-Z with the functional Ram Air.
I likely wouldn't have given you a coupon for visiting but, who knows....I can be cranky sometimes....lol.
Get yourself an LS1Tech decal from Pro Stock John...I treat them like getout a jail free cards

i've always wanted to see a police crotch rocket lol
like a hayabusa w/ a stretched swingarm w/ police lights on it and a police painjob. that would be awesome.
driving around a badass f-body all day and not able to get a speeding ticket, im so sorry man, you've got it rough.

To any police officers.. I was stopped over the Thanksgiving holiday by DPS, speeding, 77 in and 70, he gave me a warning, but I got to talking to him. He told me that most officers if they see a radar detector its an automatic ticket.... Any truth to this or was he just busting my *****..... Be safe out there.

Answer ...
-Personally, Any officer that had that attitude would be somewhat prejudice in my opinion.
-I have always "attempted" to be fair. In my case, when I am getting out of my car, I have usually made the decision about whether or not the violator is going to receive a citation:
Reason behind this; I find I can keep a check on my 'personal feelings' because sometimes when I walk up to the car, the driver's mouth starts flapping and I can get miffed with them. If I keep to my own imposed standard, I assure myself the person is recieving the citation as a result of the offense commited....rather than for making me pissed.
- I find this is really a good 'gut check' and when someone asks me, 'Are you fair?' I can give an honest response.
Ok, someone is likely gonna flame this but ....I don't care....That's why I work like described above.
