Default Good Houston Restaurants?

Me and my dad are going down to HTown for the weekend to watch the Dodgers play the Stros... (we love the Dodgers) Even though they are almost as bad as the stros

Anyways we will be over in that area by the baseball stadium.. Is there any good restraunts that you would suggest? Dosen't matter on cost.. as long as its GOOD FOOD. Give me some suggestions! Thanks!

Vic and Anthony's Steak House is basically across the street from Enron...er...Minute Maid Park. Their food is pretty tasty.

Well if cost doesn't matter there is Damoind's or Brennan's downtown, very expensive though.

Here is a link to Brennan's http://www.brennanshouston.com/

those are pretty good meat places. fogo de chao is pretty cool (all you can eat)

edit- im not sure if theres another FdC location, but those are not right in the area, its a little bit away.

Taste of Texas is good. Any hole in the wall mexican food joint-especially if the waitresses dont speak english, and theyve got D's on the health inspection report. Now THATs authentic

when I went to Fogo de Chao I think it was like $30 a plate, I think it cost different depending on the time, like lunch vs dinner.

read this for the food info

Not from Houston, but can recommend a couple restaraunts. Hueys, really good but kind of pricey, and Papadeau's. I had lunch one table from George Foreman, and is son George, his other son George, and yet another son named, you guessed it, George. He's actually a pretty down to earth guy. Sat and talked to him for awhile about boxing and some of his stories.

ROFL at 3 sons named after him... papadeax is a good place, a friend of mine works there and it's right next to the place i work in... but it's a chain... if you want something unique and a real taste of houston.. go to the other places listed...

but if all restaurants are available... try saltgrass, outback, ooh... willie's ice house is also pretty cool to go with a bunch of people....

Did anyone, besides Mike or Blakester, read his original post? He said somewhere near the ballpark. Fogo is a good 30-40 minutes away.

My vote, if money is no issue, is for Vic & Anthonys or Brennan's. Mark's is very good and DiMarco is very good... probably the best two places in Houston, but they're about 15 minutes away from the park.
