So i'm looking for my first F-body, hopefully getting it pretty soon but now i can't decide which one. I've come across two that i will be going to take a look at this weekend. one is a 1997 Trans AM WS6 with 74k and the other is a 98 Trans Am (non WS6) with 79k. both cars have the M6 transmission. both are green. T-tops. and i am torn as to which one i would take. i'm steering towards the 97 WS6 as it is going for around $2.5k less than the 98. BUT the 98 comes with a 3month warranty and an LS1! ? what do you guys think would be a better buy? is an LS1 really THAT much better than the LT1?
vs.
any input would be appreciated!

mod for mod it will make more hp than the Lt1, plus its a HELL of a lot easier to work on, PLUS you dont have to worry about leaky intake gaskets, opti spark going out, or optispark going out because of leaky intake gaskets, or optispark going out because water pump is going out dripping onthe optispark....etc etc etc etc. Did I mention LS1's are much easier to work on? Whatever you save on the LT1 as far as price, you will lose on labor and headaches anyways....

yeah.... I'm stuck with the old hawk for a while.....Wish I would have gone for an LS1
LT1's are a pain to work on, but they're not that BAD..... yeah they are....
mod for mod an LS1 will be faster....

Is this a joke? LS1 no matter what, one word about LT1's, "Optispark." Thats enough to say about them, plus the lack of power, and response to mods.
LS1 - Hands down.
Peace,
Craig.
