Default WTF is up with our government?

Babies are dieing....

Old people are dieing......

Why the HELL is our government taking so long to provided these poor people with Food and Water.

There is no excuse!

We live in the best and one of the most wealthiest countries in the world, and you mean to tell me we can not provide these people with these easy commodities?!?! We helped out sunami (sp?) victims in lest then 2-3 days?!?! But we cannot help our own Country!!?

DAMN IT this pisses me off, We pay taxes for unfortunate events like this, Money should not be a factor!!!

WHAT IS THE DEAL?

NOW so many days later we are providing help for these people, but the question is, how many suffered from the lag of the US taking so long.

I just read now, that the people that came to Houston are complaining....

Survial mode is setting in, and I feel for the weak.

Cheers

Because they are rich, and don't really give a rat's ***. (Simplified version.)

We need some sort of change-up in the government... it's getting too stagnant and political. We need action, not people sitting around twiddling thier thumbs.

Thats a bullshit excuse.

Explain to me how we can help other countries in less time, and it takes this long to help a state in our own country?

I saw on the news a baby pass out from dehydration, they had to cut to the newscaster....

This is unbelivable, this is not some 3rd world country we are talking about here.. this is THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA NO ******* EXCUSE.

and another thing, America is so strung up on our high-horse they "supposedly we rejected help from other countries"?

We need help from other countries, cause its evident we cannot take care of ourselves in a disaster such as this.

Yes and also Government and Police officers were not having to deal with looters and being shot at after the Tsunami!! They all have people sacred shitless to even come in and try and help! You have medical people going over there Locked and Loaded. That wasnt happing after the Tsunami now was it! 2 different situations that can not be compared so dont try and compare them. The national guard, coast guard and 6 navy ships and the Houston Life flight choppers are over there so do say people aren'ting anything. They are evacuating the people not trying to bring food and supplys in! They are instead taking the to places where food and CLEAN water are availible!

I agree 100%. Not only that but the government knew that this would be a long drawn out process. They should have taken or dropped food, water, meds, etc. for these people. I look at these peole and thank god that none of my family was over there. My cousins in Gulfport were lucky and survived and then got out, but these people are pissed. Who can blame them! Granted some of them aren't the best of people, but they have no home, and are going to start dieing in large numbers soon if nothing is done!!!

But if we start accepting help from other countries we might have to change some of our country's views of helping/trading/generally involving ourselves in foreign affairs.

Some people can't stand the thought of closer ties to countries besides maybe England.

I think we're shooting ourselves in the foot.

That bill should have been voted on and approved the day the emergency happened. There is no excuse for it taking this long to help those people in need. And don't give me the "We can't just snap our fingers and help" bullshit, because this is the United States of America, the most powerful and rich country on the planet. We spend billions upon billions of dollars in foreign aid without even thinking about it, and when something does happen in another country / region (i.e. Tsunami and it's victims), but it takes us a week before we can even begin to send any sort of food or water into that state? Where the hell is our military? Where the hell is any other federal agency that could be helping those people out?

Oh, and don't call me a liberal hippy, or an unpatriotic *******, because I am a fairly devout republican, who voted for Bush to be in office.

Well you go sit your *** somewhere for 5+ days w/ no food, water, air, bathes, etc and see how friendly you are. I would be pissed off too if I were there and my grandparents were dieing in their wheel chair, or my baby in my arms. Hell, people are getting raped there too. You can't keep food and help from the good ones all b/c there are criminals. Shoot the ******* criminals and help the good! A person can go w/o water for a couple of days. Think about, really!!!!

When 9/11 Happened Mayor Guilanui (somthing like that) formed a command center using Police/Fire depts and emergency crews to help in the effort for rescue and keeping civil order and the Governor Pataki was right beside him (before the US gov't stepped in to help). What the hell has the Mayor of NO and the Governor of LA done? Bitching and crying about the US Govt not coming to aid fast enough but it was the states responsiblity in the 1st place to have a plan in place incase this did happen. People should be yelling at the state 1st not our goverment, its not the goverments responsiblity to babysit the state of LA, they are only there incase LA askes for help which they didnt do until after the **** hit the fan. I didnt hear any reports from the Tsunami struck countries of people acting like these animals and they are in more poverty then these people.

I don't think ANYONE expected it to be THIS BAD! It takes some serious time to put **** like this together and people are going to be losing their lives for years to come due to the after effects of this. In my book the government is doing what they are supposed to do. Miracles cannot happen in a situation like this and people will die. It is an unfortunate situation but I think things are happening as fast as they can !

this is showing what a breakdown of command can do when u have idiots like the mayor of NO and the governor of LA in charge. I have never in my 28 yrs of living heard of Floridians acting like this after a Hurricane destroyed there city or town. What about those island countries in the gulf that get wiped out?!?!?! U may hear some reports of a little looting but nuthin like total Anarchy. This is not a shame on the USA but a Shame on LA for being ill prepared and not having the common sense like "America's Mayor" and having a command structure go up as soon as possible, instead his *** is bitching on national TV. This situation has gone down hill cause there is no Law structure in place.

And this is the part the REALLY pisses me off... In a perfect world, the US wouldn't need the help from other countries, because we generate such an enormous amount of federal funding, that a disaster like this could be taken care of ASAP. Makes you wonder where all that extra money gets spent, and if the people in charge can really manage it all that well, doesn't it?

I am comparing the 2!

IF we could have provided these people with something before hand, and not waited so damn long alot of these issues would not have even come up.

If I wasnt getting food or water, and turned to the governemnt for help and nothing was provided, your DAMN right I would be pissed off and threating people to come get my *** out of here, get my Family some Food and Water ASAP.

This is called survival, Animal instincts are now kicking in, and people are getting frustrated. Send in the god damn military and take control.

The State of LA can not handle this, the Government should have kicked in a long time ago.
