anyone know of any job openings?
well as some of you may know, i have a misfire in cylinder 3, and its gotta be a piston....seeing how its gonna cost me an arm and a leg...which i deffinitely dont have...i need to find a job that can get me to fix the car....im still in college, so i can only work 2 and onwards as of january...at the moment i can work at 10 AM everyday of the week.....does anyone know of any job openings or does anyone have a hook up for me? i desperately need to find some good work FAST before this misfire turns into something else.....if not...does anyone have any ideas of what i could possibly do? i would consider even selling the car but its still on its way of being paid off....someone please help me out here....i would GREATLY GREATLY APPRECIATE IT....

Do what he said man I made damn good money waiting tables. Just make sure oyu get a job with a restaraunt with high tabs. Dont work at Gringos, Casa Ole, etc 3-4 tips aint going to do ****. Try getting in with a steak house or something like that this time of year the Board Walk is dead otherwise that owuld be a good place. Try Perry's in Clear Lake or other hoity toity restaraaunts you can make good money 15% of 100 dollar tab well ur in college you can do the math you can make good money.

well ive swapped the plug and wire from cylinder 3(with the misfire) to cylinder 4....and the SES light came on again....and its still saying misfire in cylinder 3....ive checked the springs and they look good......only thing left to do is to take a look at the pushrods...which i will be doing later today....now how do i look at the pushrods...just removed the rockers?
#12
Remove the rocker and pull the pushrod out. Put it on a straight edge ruler and spin it to make sure it isnt bent other than that it has to be somethin in the cylinder.

to take out the puchrod, yeah just unscrew the rocker and pull it out. I dont really have experience with misfires so cant really tell you what to do besides search and ask people who have had similar problems. just saying try to find out the problem before thinking about all the other plans

yeah i see what your saying.....but still, regardless....i need a new job, the one i got just aint cuttin it and im ready to get outta there anyways...boardwalks too slow this time of the year and my managers cant run a restaurant if their lives depended on it

I had lots of random misfires on my #6 and it turned out to be a dead O2 sensor on the passenger side. Replaced the O2 sensor and reset the fuel trims, so the computer could re-learn itself. Problem solved.
Of course, you almost need a second job just to be able to afford the damn O2 sensors on these cars...

A possibility. My injectors were fine. The O2 thing was really baffling for a while. I had the fuel trims reset and it drove fine for a few days, then on the way to work, the car just went nuts. Trying to stall, lots of fuel smell, rough ride all around. I took it back to the shop and they replaced the O2 sensor and everything smoothed out for about a week, then the other O2 sensor went out. Apparently, it's pretty common for the O2 sensors to fail not long after getting long tube headers installed.
