Default Pic of my new hot rod...

Finally got her on the water this weekend for some rigging and setup tests. Should be fun once I get the right props. Its powered by a Jay Smith Racing 2.5L merc. (Jay has an MTI modded C6 also) sitting on a champ style mid and speedmaster #4 gearcase (kinda like a 408 with a glide and 9" in the car world) 575# hull.... Should run ~120

These aren't as prone to blow over, true tunnels are MUCH easier to blow over than one of these tunnel V boats.

The boat that blows over in this vid is the exact same thing as mine, he's running ~135 when it starts to blow over. The other yellow "river racer" that runs 143.4 is Mike Dixon, he is the man, the one he's running is the same as mine, just different deck.

So is that boat used for troaling or are you supposed to drop the anchor to fish with it??

Just kidding, looks like a blast!

Thanks guys...

Bronco, this motor started life as a 2.5L 260 (same as your optimax) and Jay did extensive work to the block, top pinned pistons, heads, etc. Currently working with Nitro Dave to get some Juice on this bitch.

I honestly have no experience with spraying one. The motor makes 340prop shaft horsepower right now at 9600rpm. I would expect 50-75 horse is all I would ever need. The yellow 143.4 MPH boat in the vid I linked above is only running 50hp worth and that boat is about 140# heavier than mine.

I want to build a custom intake setup for it, these things are very similar to what I am use to dealing with already. It has the 100mm center horn intake now (like a 90mm ls1 tb), I want to switch to something with triple throttlebodies. Similar to the pic below but the bigger openings. The one I want is made my MAD EFI.
