avg price for a t56 rebuild?

Default avg price for a t56 rebuild?

well my 3rd gear sucks big ones and it grinds sometimes it dont go in blah blah blah and i was just thinking while its down might aswell pull it and get it rebuilt so what am i looking to spend?

i paid 4500 for new rebuilt tranny with fully billit dogs/forks/sycros and a ram stage 3 clutch all installed

SixSpeedsInc look at the 1a package on their website. It doesn't include the 3rd gear, but 3rd gear is $125.

4500...wow, that seems pretty steep. I would be curious to know what a build would cost for a mild 400RWHP street car as well.

Hell a friend of mine paid around 2500 for a fully built faceplated trans. Could be wrong but thats what I was told, but give Amber a call and she'll take care of ya.

give jason over at TDP a call 817-300-6840, he did mine for like 950 i think, about 2 years ago, im sure youve heard of him, he does real good work, he rebuilt my rear end and added 3.73's about 2 months ago too. the only bad, his shop is like way out in Fort Worth. hey i think i sold u that ram slave cylinder like a year ago, well i traded you for some mounts and a razr, is that u? u stay in duncanville right?

A few yrs back. I think I paid lethal ~900-1000 For R&R/new 3rd gear/new synchros etc.

he's factoring in the cost of a pretty expensive nice clutch, and install labor too, kinda hard to judge how much the trans was, due to those 2 variable cost.

Yeah that is me... i ended up selling it then about two weeks later needing one!

Just because it griunds doesn't mean you need a new 3rd gear. A basic rebuild to replace the usual suspects should be anywhere from 350-500. Now if you have chipped gears, teeth, shafts and what not the price jumps up pretty quick.
You could just buy a rebuild kit and do it yourself. Thats how i learned to rebuild T56's.
