Default WTB Tech 2 or similar commercial flash diagnostic tool

Need one for the shop I work at, tired of having to send vehichles to the dealership. We are also in the market for something for other makes not limited to GM. Is there anything out there I'm not aware of? We currently have a Snap on Modis but it just dosent do everything we need.

There are lots of options that would work better than a Tech II.
Snap on, Mac, OTC/SPX, Bosch, Napa even has some. Get a local Napa flyer, they have all sorts of them in there.

There is nothing better than a oem scan tool. The generic stuff will get you by if you don't have the funds to get manufacturer specific tools.

I agree with you completely, but he said he needs to cover more than just GM vehicles.
If he is willing to spend the money, then yes, buy each OEM scan tool!!!! That will cost in excess of $20,000 by the time they cover everything they work on.

How would someone even go about buying an OEM scan/flash tool.

Dealerships, Online, just do a google search. I think that OTC would be your best bet. That is most of what they do is make scan tools for everything. Check them out, do a google search.
