Looking for a floor jack....
I'm wanting to find a good, low profile aluminum floor jack that won't cost an arm & a leg. The best I've found as far is from Jegs for $150. It has a 3.5" min height, but I was hoping to find one that was a little lower. Any suggestions?

Be careful to not off center that jack. I did on my rear axle housing and broke off a tooth on the contact pad of the jack. My fault. Great jack though, alum makes it much easier to sling around. Best jack for the money IMO.

Sears has one for about $199. Looks pretty good...more beefy than the HF.

That harbor frieght aluminum jack is only good for changing tires imho. We used one while replacing my clutch and all it did was creak and make me nervous. They have a cheaper but much heavier version that I picked up for $40 on sale at the local store, so far so good, just a little bit heavy to haul the the autocross.

WARNING , do not, absolutly do NOT buy one that is a CREW-LINE brand alluminum jack. i have one that is a TOTALL piece of crap. it jacks up (creaking the whole way). and then bleeds down slowly, we tweaked on the check valve a little which stopped it for a few lifts but it went back to crappy. its rated at 2000 lbs (which should be good for plenty more) but instead of understating its rating , i think it was overstated. my uncle bought one for himself that crapped out too. he took it back with the reciept for mine so now im stuck with it (glad i diddnt pay for it).
