did you go on the right weekend ? I believe there is only one weekend a month when can get the full discount.

If you didnt go on the right weekend I also understood that you can go back when it is the right weekend and they will return the difference.

That's not the way it has worked for me the last 5 years. Here it is 10% off all tools if they are on sale or not during the week you can use the card. I would call and talk with someone. Maybe the clerk was wrong.

i had the same problem, i called sears corporate and they said it's may not be a permanent change. but in the mean time, you still get 10% off by buying the tools online (even says that on the flyer) and selecting to pick it up in store. just return the tools and buy them again online.

Also, it does not apply to anything other than Craftsman brand tools. I got nothing off when I bought a Dewalt tool during the club stuff.

look on the door, Satisfaction Guaranteed or your money back... get the manager and make them eat those words.

I have NEVER had an issue at sears, only a few times have i had to "remind" them of the words when I entered the building.

I'm looking to buy a workbench tonight and counting on that discount. **** I have been waiting for 3 weeks to buy it because of the discount.

I guess I'll try my luck tonight, lets see how it goes...

You are right, apparently there has been a policy change. The cashier even pointed out a piece of paper with the details on it taped to the counter.

The only things discounted now is what is shown in the catalog that is mailed to customers.

What a bummer

I ended up buying a 3 piece to chest set and the older guy that was helping us pointed out that we could get the center section for free. That was a great catch! Also bought a workbench that was on special.....all in all I spent $450 and didn't get a discount on a damn thing.

Oh well, I don't pay anything to be a member anyways.

There is a 1 week period each month that you can get 10% off. Actually now you get 10% on selected items for Craftsman Members. They take 10% off on items that are already on sale as well.

For example the workbench I bought regularly cost $159. It was on sale for $109. With the Craftsman club, before the policy change, I would get another %10 on top of that. So I would pay about $100 for it.

Thats changed though with the new policy. Members get an advertisement every month on stuff that is going to be on sale. I think thats the only stuff you get discounts on now.

Good timing on this thread since I was going to creat a similiar one since I had the same experience earlier this week.

Went to one Sears and picked up a few items since I heard it was club week. Picked up a few things and the young lady at the register had problems deducting the discount, so she manually added the club disount on the 3 items I was interested in.

Off to the next Sears for a better selection since I knew the Club sale is on, grab a dozen or so things, go to check out and only get a discount on 3 of them.

I'm then told that their policies have been changing, this month, only items in the catalog are eligible for the discount. Last month it was set % of a dollar amount or something. Either way, Sears has dropped the ball on this. I was told nothing is set in stone, so hopefully we'll get our straight 10% back.

I tend not to shop at K-Mart (Sears) because the tools are very high priced and the quality is low. For example, their standrad hand wrenches have casting errors, nicks, sharp edges, dings and the finish is not polished.

You can buy a much better quality from Stanley IMO.

On the discount issue, sometimes I get it other times I don;t - I can never figure out the real price.

Suggestion: Don't shop at K-Mart (Sears)

How can something that is free to join be a rip off? You should be happy about any discount you get. Stop bitching.

Think of it this way; if you don't get a discount then you paid a premium for an overpriced tool.

In general, K-Mart (Sears) tools are not well made; it is only peoples' perception not a real fact.... IMO...
