don't know if this is the right thread or not but
I'm looking for someone to fabricate me a headlight housing sometime in near future. I've got the plans all drawn up, specs, ect. Anyone know of a place I could have this done, business, person, ect?

nope not looking for something thats mass produced looking to get something custom made that is one off. I want a custom housing for a BMW E46 projector that will fit in place of the low beam sealed beam headlight on a 2000 Trans Am.

If you are looking for some one off plastic piece's you may get lucky by finding a University with a good industrial design program. I went to college for architecture, and we worked in the same building as the industrial design students. they had lots of plastic manipulation tools and fabrication capability, but the they also had a good sized 3D plastic printer that would work perfect for what you are talking about. Im sure you have a good college that may be able to help

Like said above, find a student that is going for a degree in something industrial. I have to take a polymers and plastics course here pretty soon and they let you make whatever you want, one of my friends made his own poker chips.

What format is your part design in? I have a 3D printer I might be able to make you a small piece in but I need either an IGES, STEP, or .stl file to be able to print it off. How big is your piece.

I was going to do the exact same thing a while back for my third gen. I never could find anyone to make them for me. I was going to try and make them myself. Make a mold of how I want them shaped and then use some plexi or lexan to make the lens. Someone on here said that you can mold lexan pretty easily with heat. I just never got around to try it. I also have about 5 pounds of the clear plastic beads they use for injection molding that I was going to try, but never got around to that either.

I'm currently fiberglassing C6 lights/projectors into a breathless kit. Making my own base/housing and using the bracketry and lenses.
I'm confused on whether you're looking to use the stock pop ups with 3 series Xenon low beams. Or whether you're going the same route as me.
