How about some pictures? I'd like to see them. Thanks.

Also - what's the issue with the title?

I will post pics tonight

The story is, the wife is on title, with her now ex-husband who is in Jail for life, you need both signatures.. She couldn't get it him to sign, (BAD DIVORCE I GUESS) I was going to go through the pain in the but to do a lien sale on it, but bought another car(Firehawk) and now am either going to sell it whole or part it out..

Again I will get pics up soon..

If the title has your wife's name and says and/or (insert ex's name here) then you only need one signature. If it just says AND then you're right, you're screwed.

If she still holds the title then she still is the rightful owner I would think even with a bill of sale. She could claim the car was stolen and then everyone would be screw. JMO Good luck with the sale but I would get that title or atleast watch her burn the title and then just file for a lost title.

Its the latter... hence why parting it out is an option..I bought it with that very thought, But I ended up buying a Firehawk (on this forum) and the wifey said, hold up... Dont want the house looking like we dont have a dental plan..

So is there absolutely no way to get a clear title for this car at this point?

There is. You have to do a lien sale. I would, but it takes time... I just bought a Firehawk, from one of the members here and the wife said Something has to go. I got a 97 SS Im building too... Along with a 66 LS1/t56 GTO, 73 Z28 protouring, and 3 other cars(avalanche, CLS500 and SRT8 magnum).

Wife rules... Have to let this one go

each state is different... In California, you have to register a lein against it with DMV, certifiy mail the registered owners in this case, if no response after 90 days, lein sale is complete and DMV release to new owner, this is provided there isnt a Bank, or anything like that. Oh course this is simplfied, and again it might be different in each state.
