Default 2000 F250 XLT Power Stroke Diesel (looking for a driver/tow vehicle for your F-car??)

I'm selling my 00 F250 Diesel, it is listed on AutoTrader but I thought why not list it here?

2000 F250 XLT Power Stroke Turbo Diesel

Great for a driver AND/OR a tow vehicle for your F-car??

Specs:

2000 F250 XLT
7.4 Liter V8 Turbo Diesel (the super reliable one made by International)
Six Speed / 2WD (auto's known to fail in the F250s)
Miles: 104,000 (just broken in, ask anyone w/a diesel)
New Brakes (including rotors/pads/brackets)
Grey Cloth (clean seats)
Factory CD Player
Power Door Locks and Windows
Asking $12,500!

E-mail me for a phone number if you are interested!
jeffreystar@gmail.com

Upgrades:
32% Tint on the Sides / Limo Rear
PSN sound deadening installed in the entire cab
5" Turbo Back Exhaust
AEM CAI
Diablo Programmer (economy mode program installed now)
Upgraded International Cam Angle Sensor (common point of failure)
Goose Neck Hidden Hitch Setup (very nice)
Hidden Hitch Trailer Brake
New Shocks (OEM caliber replacement)
New Carpet (OEM caliber replacement)

Truck runs really well! This truck was owned by a woman before me and she towed a single horse trailer all around Texas. It's never been a work truck but could be a work truck now. There is nothing wrong with the truck, everything works great. I'm just not using it to it's potential.

The truck would probably run a high 14 or 15 flat. It moves for a big truck! Not your typical F250.

Pics are here:

Here is a picture showing the install of the PNS sound deadening.

This is the interior now.

Forgot to include, I installed a new battery in this truck Saturday. Autozone 875 Cold Cranking Amp unit.

e-mail returned!

My Truck IS in excellent condition for a 7 year old Truck. judging other F250s and their condition after 7 years of use, I know my truck is considered in excellent condition. I did a TON of research on Diesel trucks when I bought this truck and I'd like to share a little of that with you. I drove about 10 used F250 Diesel trucks and did a lot of research on various Ford Truck and Diesel truck enthusiast sites. I found that the F250 is about the best bang for truck truck out there if you buy it with the Turbo Diesel and you do not buy a truck that has been abused (ie: Work Truck/Ranch Truck). Second, for a driver which is what this truck is for me, 2WD was the way to go as 4WD added more weight, more maintenance, and in most cases more abuse from previous owners. Third the automatic Transmission in the 99-03 F250s is prone to regular failure. This is very common, ask about it when you call some of these one owner Auto trucks, most get replaced around 65-75k and will need another one around 110-120, which is why you see a lot of the F250s (most are autos) for sale around 75-85k miles or 120-130k miles. Third gear normally starts to slip when the tranny is hot and it's more apt to happen to 4wd trucks that have been mudded or off roaded OR work trucks that have been loaded at near towing capcity. Fourth, the cam angle sensor DOES fail on these trucks, leaving you stranded. The truck WILL NOT start or do anything until it is replaced. I replaced mine pre-emptively with an upgraded unit, calls the BLUE CMS from International. It costs about 100 dollars plus shipping. Gave the truck improved mileage and a smoother idle. My truck has never been a work truck, the first owner was fairly rich lady that only used the truck to show her horse, she lived in Magnolia Texas in some ridiculous house. A goose neck hitch for a 1 horse trailer is absolutely overkill but she really took great care of the truck. She was an engineer from A&M and loved driving a manual. She had just bought a new F250 XLT when I went to pick this truck up and it too, was a six speed truck,, go figure?! Other then showing her horse, she didn't drive it often and was the first owner. She had all the factory service done at the Ford dealership near her house. The paint is clean, there are no nasty dents or scratches. It does have the wear and tear of a 7 year old vehical but not the wear and tear of a 7 year old work truck. Most of the used F250s I looked at were absolutely beat down. I think if you come look at, drive and then compare this truck to some other offerings you will be happy you did.

All that being said, I'd like to sell the truck but I'm not desperately selling it and I really do like it. I'm resolved to ask a fair price for this truck. The truck has a fresh brake job, which included new rotors at all four corners, new pads, a power bleed and 1 new wheel sensor (the rear sensor fails often, another tidbit you should remember). No major scratches or dents, fresh tint, new carpet and it's never been in a fender bender, off roaded or abused. This is a good truck and will last many more miles.

I did a lot of research on F250s before I purchased this truck. Took great care of it and it will take good care of you. Some of those other trucks out there may be owned and kept by a guy like me, but I doubt it highly. If you want, check into my post on my 02 Z28 I just sold. You'll see several references there from people who know me or who have purchased cars from me in the past. I do not own or sell crappy vehicles. Everyone that has ever bought a car from me has been happy with what I sold them.

Good luck in your choice!

Jeff

I will consider smaller pickup trades valued around 3,000.
