$16,000+ in modifications, $30,000 OBO returned to stock, or $40,000 OBO as is.

But what some people don't realize is that diesels in general, especially mine, get better fuel economy than a gasoline truck.

Jeramy, it is simple economics. Supply vs Demand. Prices are not linked to perceived value, they are driven by the market of consumers. Your truck may be worth X amount to you, but the market determines what they sell for.

Diesel truck prices are at an all-time low and their resale is also at an all-time low. When new trucks sell ultra-cheap, that makes the used truck values also decline. Sucks, but that is just the way it is.

I picked up an '06 Ram dually in pristine condition last week. 65K miles, leather, sport package, etc... for $19K. Pretty sick, I had an identical truck ('04) that I sold for $28K with the same miles and options....3 years ago. Back when the diesel market was strong.

I totally understand. I'm in no hurry to sell the truck. When the right offer comes around, I'll sell.

With what you said, have you sold your Duramax? I know you were asking a pretty penny for it too.

Mine sold on ebay for $42.5K, but it also was an '08 with 9k miles on it, 4x4, LTZ, sunroof, nav/dvd, every single option. Went to a guy in Florida.

I bought another Dodge dually ('06 5.9L)

Wow, you got a great deal. Mine was loaded to the max to minus leather and 4x4. I didn't want leather and I have no use for 4WD. Also, I don't believe the offered Nav in '06.

At any rate, the truck only has 30k miles and I have well over $16,000 in parts alone.

Now what in the world do you need a dually for?

I bought a 32' enclosed trailer over the weekend. Not only that, but the dually trucks drive better to me, especially in corners. Go test drive one, they have hardly any body roll when turning. Dodge has much better steering feel than the GM trucks also, so it is like an oversize sports car. lol

Oh ok, well in that case, I can see a use for a dually. I've never driven one, so I can't speak for them. I probably will never own one either because I don't tow or haul anything and with getting rid of the race car, I will definitely have no use for one. I'm not happy with the GM steering "clunk". Drives me up the wall. I had it replaced once, may have to take it back in to do it again.
