I'll be working near San Clemente, CA for a couple weeks - its ~half way between San Diego and LA.
Anyone know this area? What should I check out?
I doubt we will make it up to LA, but we will be spending some time in San Diego.
Tips on bars, restaurants, scenery, ect. in San Clemente (and even San Diego) are appreciated.

damn man.. i just got back from a week vacation from there... right on the beach. it's probably one of my favorite towns in CA, something about it makes it better than any other beach.

oh, to answer your question... the scenery: beach lol.
not sure what else is there inside the town, i always just hang on the ocean front. fishermans on the pier is pretty good, but also pretty pricey.

A lot of stuff around there is pricey
Also there's very little parking.
Good/cheaper places to eat at (check Google Maps):
Avila's (Mexican food - it's on the corner... 204 Avenida Del Mar #A)
Super Bowl Express (good asian food place, if going uphill it's on your right, downhill its on your left - 1622 N. El Camino Real)
There's a bunch of shops and restraunts on Avenida Del Mar and apparently there's a farmers market type thing on the weekend - apparently its still really expensive though.. lol
Watch out for steep grade changes, especially if your car is lowered or you have a low-clearance exhaust

- Seriously, enjoy the beach. It's one of the most beautiful in the state.
- +1 to Fisherman's on the pier. Gotta try the Oysters on the half shell.
- The Rainbow sandal factory is on pico, I believe. You can't KILL those sandals!
- Just down the 5 there is great surfing and camping at San Onofre.
- Just UP the 5 is Laguna Beach
- TONS of restaurants/bars/things to do on PCH--you won't be bored
Have fun!
