9-second 600, vid inside
So I know this has nothing to do with cars, but if you're a bike, fan pick up a copy of the current Super Streetbike magazine (July 2010 issue) with my cover story. I get a ZX-6R into the 9's with just a few bolt-ons.
Here's a a quick vid I put together. Go buy a copy and help a starving journo out, lol!
Thanks

I'd rather go 9's in a car too, more difficult!

Yeah, with that much torque I bet you're faster through the 1/8th than that 600. What are your mods? I'd think with a full system, the right jetting, straped/lowered and the right gearing you'd get it. And a soft tire too. Pick up the issue for the full breakout of times with 60-ft's, but the quick shifter/Bazzaz saved us some pretty good time, more so than I thought it would.

The stock air filters are so good these days you need to run something like a BMC track filter with a 200-count element (not very good) in order to see any type of gains. I'm not familiar with how the FZ1 responds to air filters though. But deep 10's is DAMN fast! I bet you'll hit 9's with just a little more practice, or maybe even a tank of some VP MR12 and you'd get it. That stuff is serious, we've seen upwards of 5-7 HP with just the gas. Albeit is too expensive to run on the street, but one night at the track in search of the 9's surely justifies the one-time expense.

We opted to run a Bazzaz and a Quick Shifter instead of the PC5. And yeah, do some searching, you can make that ol' 1100 haul serious a$$!!! Those bikes are dope, I've always liked them.

Ya i believe 9's will be had with better weather. So is that what you do is test for a magazine? I would love to do that, right now I am actually the fastest 2nd gen FZ1, over guys with PC3's and other engine mods. http://www.yamahafz1oa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=63011
I will be trying for 9's once some better weather hits. I want to try out a 15t sprocket so I can lower the 60' a bit. Right now my best is low 1.6's.

Ya I will definitely do that, I will just need to get some better pics of it. All the ones I have are from when I bought it, which are not the nicest lol. That would be cool to get in a mag of some sort.
I would love to drag new bikes down the strip to see what they're made of.
