Glad you got it back, could have been a lost worse

Did they tow it from your house or hotwire it?

Cut your losses and invest in some security(cameras, lojack, steel fence, etc.)

Being there is damage under the dash I would guess it was hotwired; being that it was found they must have just wanted to take a 9sec car for a drive. Yes a well hidden surveillance system will be good, why not add a gps tracking device while you are at it; glad to hear you got it back.

The fact that I have guns to help defend myself and my family if I truly needed to has nothing to do with your statement that I mentioned above. You don't want to assume anything in a scenario like that. To give people advice that they will be safe enough simply pumping a shotgun to scare away intruders/thieves is simply not a good idea.
I believe we are dealing with people on this forum who can make decisions on their own, know their abilities, and neither need or want to read my advice for how I approach situations. I expect they would follow what they thought was right, how they were trained, etc. so I have no fear in posting my opinions and I do so without reservation.

Would I follow my advice as a way to attempt to scare off an unarmed thief who I did not intend to harm outright initially? Absolutely. At the end of the day I have a loaded shotgun in my hands, so you assuming he could be worse than "common" and could be "crazy" has me covered on both ends of the spectrum.

It is easy to criticize someone's ideas when you provide none yourself.

They Broke the column then tried to hot wire it but would start so they decided to push it to a safe place and then tow it, car was not driven due to the fact that they dont know how to operate the XFI system and the anti theft tune I put in..

It was good to hear that you were able to recover the car. When theives strike most of us are upset and formulate plans to get even or go through the mental gymnastics of thinking what we would like to do to the scum bag thieves. I was victimized last year when a tread mill my girlfriend and I were transporting home was stolen out of the back of my sons pickup truck. We were in the same parking lot as the truck holding the tread mill and were shopping for a Christmas tree. A couple of guys in an old conversion van pulled the treadmill into their truck and took off. My son was within probably 50 feet of these guys when they were getting back into the van and he realized what was going on. They took off, and we made a brief attempt to follow, but they got just enough jump to get away. I put a lot of energy into thinking how I was going to find these guys and make things "right", but none of it did I end up acting on. Good people work long and hard to earn the goodies they buy, the person that takes those couple of hours to remove it when it is not theirs should plan to suffer the consequences.

Honestly...does it really matter?

Police reports are irrelevant since the car is back.
Pics are irrelevant since a 25yr old V6 can't be that fast.
The other board has already been mentioned in this thread.

Why dance around his call out and either accept or decline?

BTW, I don't have a dog in this fight, just my $.02

What's the point of racing a 9 second car against a 10 second car?

Which other board, I must have missed it?

Why is he posting on this board to start with?

Has he caught the perps and dished out some street justice yet?

Like I said............ YAAAWWWNNNNNNNNN

Como'n what are you afraid off, It's only a V6, cant be that fast..

Which other board, I must have missed it?

Why post on Buick board when i know those are visited by theifs looking for victims and give them a warning, i called most of my close friends who have the same interest as myself and made it aware about my car being missing and to keep their eyes open for it..

Why is he posting on this board to start with?

because i met some cool people at a meet who also love muscle cars and they told me about the board, and we all have one thing in common.. (MUSCLE CARS)

Has he caught the perps and dished out some street justice yet?

I'm not the one in charge of the investigation or catching any perps, I will let the authorities do their job which I am sure they will do a mighty fine job without my assistance.

Like I said............ YAAAWWWNNNNNNNNN..

Sounds like this board is the only source of entertainment for you, there are some good movies out why don't you go watch one or go take a nap if your yawning that much, did you know that yawning is a sign of lack of Oxygen in the brain hence that explains all the stupidity you keep typing every time you post..
I am done Replying to this guy, take my race or go take a nap.

I second this.

I can't understand why someone would join this board, this month, start a thread about killing thieves when a grossly obvious attempt was made to steal the vehicle, do nothing to prevent a future attempt, then the car is stolen, recovered, and repaired.

It could be true, but there are warning signs indicating something is fishy. Asking the OP to prove it shouldn't be a big request.

No they're not, a crime was still committed, fingerprints were taken, but most importantly, it's a way for the OP to prove he's telling the truth. He does that, then he builds some credibility.

People place too much faith in security cameras. Usually the playback quality is poor or a lot of thieves will wear hoodies and you can't even see their face or anything that would show their identity. These guys were either amateurs or they got scared and ditched the car. You got lucky this time, but someone will try again if the car is parked in public view. GPS and Lojack can help as long as you discover the theft before they have time to go through the car and locate the transmitters. 87 Buick's are one of my favorite cars of all time, so for the sake of all the Buick fans, protect her.

Dude, 1st of all I have no reason to lie about someone stealing my car or making an attempt to do it and then succeeding, I am happy my car was recovered and I will leave it at that, fingerprints were lifted but cops wont you any info and tell you who the perps were because they know you could take matters into your own hands and they don't want to have that on their hands, I did ask for a police report but was told to go pick it up at the downtown station I am not about to take the time to go get it just to satisfy some lurkers in here or look credible to some haters, I could easily download one, fill up and post it, but why do that right? anyway I am happy my ride is back and we shall leave it at that, right now she is parked in a safe place with guard dogs and a security camera system, whenever i get a itch to ride her I will go pick her up and take it for ride as I always do..
Have a nice day..

I never said V6's were slow, nor am I afraid. In reality, I could care less what you drive or how fast it is.

How did that NOT posting on the Buick board work out for you?

Wow, you're so calm about the theft, when the other day you were ready to shoot someone with a 30-06 for looking at your car. Remember..... "you know how to use it."

My O2 level is fine, I yawn because you're boring as hell.

Ask Aristo how calm I can be, he was with me in the car when one of the rod bearings in the car went out and it was making a horrible noise like the whole motor was going to fall apart., he was almost crying about it and I was cool as a cucumber. LOL, another thing is to **** with my property or myself, do that and you will see how fast i can go from 0 to 100 temper wise..
Honey, I am so Sorry you don't fine me exciting and that I am not providing a source of entertainment for you, care to join me at the local strip joint!!!, girls there are fun and the entertainment is awesome not to mention they have good food..
