Default Brotherhood raceway Park Terminal Island CA.

I dont post on this message board much but this information might be interesting.

Yesterday in traffic on my way home from work I met Big ***** Robinson of the former Brotherhood raceway Park on Terminal Island Ca. I asked him if the rumors were true that his dragstrip was coming back and he said YES.
apparently the coal company that had taken over the property has gone
bankrupt and he was able get the lease back. He aslo said that maybe in a few weeks they maybe running again.( forgot to ask if it was eigth or quarter mile)

If any of you remember the old track from the mid 90's it was located near ferry street ( the first exit off the vincent Thomas Bridge if you headed south bound on the 110 freeway.)

I hope this works out as good as last time because the location is perfect: The track is at sea level, Cool temps near the Harbor/ocean area and it is basically an industrial area ( no neighbors to complain ).

If anyone else has info please chime in.

Now that would be awesome! They are taking tracks down left and right, it will be fun to see one resurrected.

I'd love to see TI open up again, last time I was there was in my old '68 GTX running 12.5s back in 1980-81. Big ***** would make the rounds policing the area telling us to keep the beers out of sight.

THis is good news. TI is much closer (and cooler) than LACR. Although, I hate to see LACR close up.

He's actually been saying that for years. He used to come up to our street race meetings and preach. Really cool guy. Hope he gets it together finally. Would love to see how it goes.

One of the many things I enjoy about having moved to Tempe (I'm from Gardena) is the availability of a good track to race down on Friday nights. Firebird raceway is only 5 miles from my house.

I happen to detour over the Vincent Thomas bridge today on my way home from work hoping to see a sign saying the raceway was coming back, no luck though Looked like business as usual.

That would be so bad *** if they did reopen the track. I was born and raised in that area, and to this day I still work on the tug boats in the harbor. But i find it hard to believe, you got to take into consideration that the container vessel companys have Practically taken over most of the area. The port of los angeles is one of the biggest in the world and produces billions of dollars in revenue. So I seriously doubt that they would allow the track to reopen. When i was younger the port was the place to race, you could run for hours with no prob. but ever since 9/11 its nearly impossible theres so many cameras not to mention theres a ferderal prison, a cost guard base, INS facility and a naval/marine base as well. It would be bad *** like i said but its kinda a long shot in hell.

As much as I would love to see it also, it seems like I've been hearing this for years.
