I'm suprised at the amount of work I have to do to fit a 28x10.5w et drag under my car. I cut the crap out of the bump stop area, all the way to the top of the coil spring about!
Interested in seeing pics of what you guys had to do to fit tires this big or bigger under your car.
before anyone says "you dont have to do xxx for a 10.5" Im talking about 10.5w ET DRAGS not streets, it's the same width as a 13.5 et street would be.
thanks

My 27" Hoosier QTP's are 12 1/2" wide at the widest spot, I spent a couple of hours cutting out the bump stops and doing the BFH work on the inside of the wheel well in front of the bumpstop. Still after all that work I only have a 1/2" clearance on the inner fender well. It does look nice after I used black spray paint to give almost a factory look.

pics of the work? I was gonna use spray can truck bed lining to give it a factory type look when I get done.
theyre the 27 x 11.5s?
bulge to bulge my tires are about 15 inches.

Yes, they are the 27x11.5x15 Quick Time Pros. Since I have only 1/2" clearance on the inside fender well I don't see how a wider tire could fit unless you do a mini tub which is major major surgery.
I was going to spray the bed liner also, it probably would have looked even better, but I really didn't want any build up that would make things tighter.

I'm also running a 5/16 spacer with 3 1/2 inch studs. that helps.
When you cut yours, did you just cut it flush? If so thats why, I cut the ridged part of the inner fender that the coil spring sits behind to just a couple inches from the top, there's a good two inches in there.

I have 315/35/17 BFG KD's that measure 13 1/2" across and I just added a 10mm spacer, didn't have to touch the bumpstops at all. It was much closer at the bottom front of the wheelwell. That being said, you should specify for camaros since they have tighter wheel wells than the firebirds do.

I cut my bump stops in half, along with the mount on the car, but they still rub. I'm going to have to remove them, do a BFH mod to that area and figure out some other type of a bump stop!
