Default 275/45/20

I was wondering if 8.5/20 Rims with a +38mm offset would fit. The tires that are going to be on them is 275/45/20's. Is it possible? I'm already assuming that the tires won't fit on the front but the back i think they will. Can someone let me know for sure please if these will fit without doing any mods.

A 45 series tire and a 20 inch wheel! . . . That would be nearly a 30" diameter tire . . .

I found out a Nitto 325/50/15 will fit on a 15x10 Weld Prostar, so I will be going with that.

Anyone know how heavy the 325's are? I was thinking about getting the 295 BFG's, but they are almost 30" tall. I would get a 275-295 on the 15x10's, but they don't have any good sidwall heights. The 325 size seems best. I also thought about getting a 15x8 and putting a 275 on, but I want a little wider than that.

anyone know what size spacer or adapter I would need to make this combo work....
I just got an '81 vette (still have the TA) and I want to fit a set of trans am GTA wheels I have on it.

Vette Wheel--Short spoke spider,
steel rim--15x8
Wheel Offset= -0.50"

Note*
50 inch =12.7mm.

GTA wheels:
16x8
rear wheels have a 16MM offset
fronts have 0mm offset

(I'm going to place the 0mm (deeper ones) in the back. The problem I'm having is the huge brake cailpers are hitting the wheel.

so spacers come in 1/2" increments. The 0mm (front gta's) only need a 1/2 " spacer to make them -.50
and the 16mm (rear gta's) need a 1 1/2" spacer because 16mm = .62992125 inches
and .62992125 + .50 = 1.13" therefore 1.5" (1 1/2") spacer... right???
and longer studs to mount them on.

*Update... I found a guy on ebay who can custom make a set for me...

i know this has to be posted some where, i tried searching and couldn't find it and couldn't find it in this thread.

I know it says that the correct backspacing is 4.75 for the ls1's, but will a 15x8 with 4.5" backspacing fit? This is probably a dumb question, i just don't know the answer

First of all, thanks for this post and offering your help to all of us.

I have a set of stock 10 spoke SS wheels from my 2002 35th Anniversary car.. they are the ones that have the black centers with the polished face. They are physically the same size/offset as every other stock OEM 10 spoke.

Im sending them out to be widened to 11" to retain the stock look and have a wider tire.... 315s. When it comes to my car the one thing I dont understand fully is the whole offset thing.. and since Im physically altering my wheels I have even more confusion.

Im trying to figure out what size spacers I should use to make these widened wheels work with 315 rubber.. I dont mind massaging the wells if need be, or rolling the lip if I have to. I already have aftermarket APHR and LCAs... and Im ready to cut the bump stops off if I have to.

I need help with the spacer size.. what am I going to need? Am I going to need longer studs?

Thanks.

In your case, I would wait until you have the wheels back. Mount up tires, put car at ride height on jack stands and stick the wheels in position to "mock up" where you want the wheel...then measure. THAT will give you absolutely the best results.

...and yes, you will need longer studs most likely.

Very good advice.

But here's how it works by math: Ultimately since you are adding width to an existing wheel, and most likely all of the new width is going to the back side of the wheel. With all the new width on the back side, the offset of the wheel (for a F-Car) would increase by 50% of the added width.

So, a stock 9" 56mm offset wheel, widen 2" . . . 56mm + (50% of 2") = 81.4 mm

To bring the wheel back to the right offset a spacer is needed. The ideal offset for 11" wheels is between 46 mm and 50 mm, so . . 81.4 mm - 50 mm = 31.4 mm or 1.23"

A nice hub and wheel centric adapter will do the trick. Width is going to be between 1" to 1 1/4" . . . (mathmatically)

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but just double-checking: an 18x9.5 wheel w/ a 65mm offset wouldn't fit on the front w/out a spacer, right? TIA

I dont know if this has been answered, so let me know if it has and where to find it but I have a '99 T/A with the stock 16" wheels and 245 rubber and am looking to purchase the Torq Thrust II's 17x9 for the front and 17x11 for the back with plans to put 275's on the front and 315's out back...what fit modifications will need to be done to ensure no rubbing/hitting problems? Any info will be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Also I read that tire height differences will disable ABS on f-body's...Will the proposed setup make this happen? (Im planning on using the Eagle F1 GS-D3's)

You won't have any problems w/ the 17x9 TT2's up front. I have the same setup on my 95Z. For the rear, I used 17x11 TT2's w/ 315's as well. We had to bang the fender in about 1/4". It sounded worse than it looked. But it took care of the problem!

What I have seen from all these threads is that EVERY F-body is different. Some won't have to have the fenders banged in at ALL. And some have to have up to an inch banged in. Just test fit them and see You will be HAPPY with the results, I can promise you that
