Thanks. I do not know the BS, I usually only quote wheels by the offset. No need to know both, since they are related.

275/35ZR18 will be perfect. Same OD as a stock tire.

This thread has a lot of good information regarding wheels and tires.

I'm currently planning to upgrade my tire/wheel combo on my 02 Z28. The car currently runs the 16x8 factory chrome wheels with 245/50/ZR16 tires. I'm looking at a set of Black C5 Z06 Wheels with 54mm Offset equipped with Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires - 275/40/17. On paper this should work, but would like a final opinion before I pull the trigger on this upgrade.

Thanks

I'm sure this has already been answered in this thread but I can't search through 15 pages right now...

I'm gonna be going with tomz's z06 motorsport 18x9.5 and 18x10.5 setup. I know I should go 275's in the front but what profile - 30, 35, or 40? Also, what are my options for the rear. I don't want to pay out the *** for 315's so I was considering 305's or even 295's. What are my options for those, considering my top two tires I would want would be GS-D3's or KDW2's. Thanks in advance.

275/35ZR18 front and 295/35ZR18 rear. GS D3's do not come in those sizes, but the KDW2's do.

Tires you quote are 1" taller than stock overall diameter. So you need to reprogram your speedo.

A 275/35ZR18 will be the same overall diameter as stock.

May buy some 18x9.5 Z06's all the way around, has a +57mm offset. The chart shows +56mm as the max, is +57mm ok? Will I have to be cautious on bumps, etc.? My car is already lowered and the stockers have no problems whatsoever. Thanks!

57 is OK. The larger the number get the more the wheel moves inwards, so those will have a somewhat tucked in look. Honestly should not have any rubbing issues.

OK- heres one I hope someone can help me with.

Zeforged wheels: 18x9.5, 18x10.5 with the normal 275 F/295 R tire setup.

Manufacturer is telling me a BACKSPACE of 6.75" for rear, a BACKSPACE of 7.375 for front, which also gives me a 2" lip on front rim and 3" lip on back rim. I know backspace is not the same as offset- and also know there are some other variables that come into play on backspacing and offset specs.

But, are these backspacing specs right for the SS? Sounds like the wheels are gonna be tucked inside the wells, which I don't want- I want to be flush.
Can anyone give me a rough idea about these measurements?

The rough back space on my 9.5" front and 10.5" rear are:

9.5" ~ 6.7" of BS
10.5" ~ 7.2" of BS

These are only guesstimates not actual measurements. The actual offsets on both wheels is 38 mm.

F.Y.I., even with proper backspace for a 15" rim, Crager Street Stars will not fit around stock brakes.

Default Biggest Combo for 98 Z

I have a 1998 Z28 with the factory body kit, I have been pricing wheels but Im very picky and Im looking for the perfect fit. I have fallen in love with the new C6 corvette wheels, I was wanting 18 inch in the front and maybe 19 inch in the back. However, I dont want the rear tire height to be shorter than the front, what are the widest wheels in a 18 & 19 that will fit? Also what would be the ideal tire size combo for the 18/19 set up? If Im gonna be spending 2 grand on this I want it to be perfect.

I personally cannot stand the offset diamters on Camaros, since just as you state the side wall of the front and rear tires are different. Camaro's ABS does not like the OD of the tire to be different in excess of ~1/2" OD of the tire.

To get C6 wheels to fit "perfect" you will need to run spacers/adapters sinc the offset of the rear wheels is so large. I really do not know too much about the C6's to give proper answers.

Widest wheels . . . 9.5" is plenty up front with a 275 series tire. Out back I feel 10.5" is perfect, but a 11" can fit. Tire for out back a 295 to a 315 series fit.
