Sorry, im lost, what do people do when they put like 315's on the back? I understand that they are going to have a 10 or 11" rim but what would putting a wider tire affect it when doing that doesnt? Im not trying to argue or say your wrong I just dont understand. Thanks for the help.
check that calculator out. Like it was stated before, most 315s are 35 series. So a 315/35/17 is the same diameter as a 275/40/17.
You dont have to keep the stock diameter when you buy new wheels/tires, but the fronts and rears need to be close in overall diameter. (ie you cant have a 275/40/17 front and a 335/35/20 in the rear without causing problems.)

2005 C6 Rims on 02 WS6
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I bought some Corvette C6 rims 18x8.5 front and 19X10 rear. Is there any way to mount these on my 2002 Trans Am. I guess I should have asked this before I purchased them. I tried to mount them today and the rears would not go!!! Please Help anyone!!
I know the offset and widths have already been mentioned but I do not understand those terms!!

Tire fit for Xsta Z
I just purchased some new wheels for my 2001 Z28. the wheels are 17x 8.5 5x120 with a 38mm offset. I just wanted to be 100% sure before ordering tires which would be the best fit. I read the entire post but didnt see any recipes for this exact size. I saw a +1 tire would be 245/45/17 or 275/40/17. I just wanted to check with you to see if the 275s would work on all 4 or if i should run 245s
thanks
thanks

does anyone know how 275/40/17s will fit on 17 x 8.5 wheels with a 38mm offset? As of right now i have a damaged wheel and cant drive the camaro. I am stuck driving a honda civic, so the sooner I get my tires the sooner and take the rice out of my diet

thanks Nick,
Most the tire places i saw recommend a 17x8.5 to 17x 10.5 for 275/40/17 and a 17x7 to 17x9 for 245/45/17. Wasn't sure if anyone had these same specs on their Camaro. Just figured i would see if anyone was using this combo and how it worked out.

well from what i've read and seen and done i wouldnt put the 275 on less than 9.0...i believe the best range for the 275 is 9.0-10.0...as far as tires go and as expensive as they get its better to be safe than sorry...unless you are actually racing it the width wont matter much betwene 245 and 275 and if you plan on racing you should get some 10-11 rears with 315-335 on the back and leave the front the way they are to save money...just my 2, maybe 3 cents

I found some wheels that I really like and they are Y2k c5 wheels that are kinda deep dish the dimensions are 18x10.5 with a 56mm off set and according to the chart a it says 38 to 50mm. Just wondering how far of an offset you can go. Would this fit with strano 1.2 springs?
Sorry they go off sale soon and 48 pages is a lot to read through haha.

Alright guys, I tried reading through a few pages of posts and my eyes started getting crossed looking over all the numbers. I was just curious if a 18x10.5 rim with a 295/35 tire will fit up front on a 4th gen camaro. If so what offset should I run? If not then I'll just stick with the 18x9.5" rims.
