Im kinda in the same boat too, I read the first 8 pages, and couldnt see anything related.. I need another new set of tires, and Id like to go bigger on the rear. I have the stock 16inch rims on my 93Z, could I run a 275, or close to, on the back without any issues?

Just like location, location, location......pictures, pictures, pictures. I know somebody is squared away enough to capture all this data, put it with some pics, and make another sticky.

This is about as confusing as the first day of Jumpmaster school:

1) Step one, take your working hand, with fingers and thumb extended and joined, run it across the ballistic helmet looking for cuts, frays, or burrs. Run your index finger of the working hand down the long continuous portion chinstrap until you reach the adjusting buckle on the jumpers right side.....blah blah blah blah. The tab thong, the slide fastener, the quick fit V ring, the metal adjuster, the diagonal back straps, aaaaaahhhh.

Like my wife speaking Norwegian to me........"what, hun"! ha ha

Stock 16" wheels are only 8" wide. Biggest tire is 255/50ZR16.

Question C6 ZO6 Wheels

I debating on buying some C6 ZO6 wheels. They r the five star double spoke polished wheels. The seller just bought some other wheels for his ZO6. The problem is that i have read about people installing 11s in the back, and these r 12s. Is it even possible to get these wheels on my 98' WS6 TA? The front ZO6 wheels are 18x9.5 +40, and rears he said are 19x12 +59. I have already read the notes but still dont know if i can get them on without to much of a problem. Im pretty sure the fronts go right on, but, the rears r what i have the most concerns.
I will be waiting for ur answers, Thank You.

If anyone has the wheels already on a TA can u post some pics!!

Fronts will fit just fine . . . rears . . . not 100% sure. Most likely would need a spacer or adapter to fit. I see you have a Firebird, which does net you ever so slightly wider quarter panels . . . . It would be a trial and erro test fit . . . I am not aware of any one that has tried.

Exclamation Y2Ks

I recently purchased a set of OE Y2Ks. 17x8.5(front), 18x9.5(rear).
I should have read this more in depth before my purchase. The wheels look OK but I expected a more aggressive look. It bothers me when Im walking towards my car and the rear wheels look really tucked in. What kind of spacer or what do I need to get that look that i so desire. I have seen other TAs with the same wheels and they look fine. I guess they were smart enough and bought the replicas with different offset. I have 245/45(front) and 275/40(rear) on the wheels. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Best way to measure for how big of a spacer, is to tape a weighted string from the side of your quarter panel and measure the distance from the face of the tire to the string. That would be the absolute maximun wheel; spacer to use, you can descide from there waht thickness to run.

Xsta Z 28, I was trying to install 17x11 Zr1's with a 50+mm offset on the rear of my Trans Am today and ran into a problem. The wheel itself without a tire on it yet would not even fit without rubbing the fender well. I am at stock ride height with a Moser 9. I also have an adjustable panhard bar. I was wondering what the problem could possibly be for it to be rubbing this much already without having tires on it yet!?!?! Thank You.

Is the Moser shorter than a stock axle? . . .

Was the wheel rubbing the wheel well, or the "bumpstop" bracket?

Were you test fitting the wheel with the axle supported or the axle hanging?

A 50 mm offset 11" wide wheel should fit, with very little clearance.

You can go with either a 275/40/17 or 285/40/17.

Quick question..........

99 Z28, stone stock ride height....looking to avoid BFH or lip rolling.

What is the best set up front & rear for 17" Torque Thrust 2s and what size rubber would you recommend to go along with it?

Thanks!
