Default which 315/35R17 for daily driver?

Yup, I did a search.

I've had BFG drag radials, they wear out too quickly.

I currently have the Sumitomo cheepies but I'd like something that would be more of a high performance tire.

I would lean towards the NT05's over the NT05R's for something street driven and looking for a longer tread life. I plan to get a set next week.

Hmmm, I never really looked at Nitto, I thought they only had sticky drag radials.

Their tire comparason chart shows the NT05 as having better dry performance and just as good wet performance as the NT555.

Does anybody have experiance with both?

Thanks boyz...

Looks like I'm going with the 555. More tread depth (.33 vs. .23 for the 05) and its slightly lighter (32 vs. 35 pounds for the 05). And the 555 is a hundred bucks less each.

I found them at $186 each at discounttirezone.com.

These tires are on the heavy side...

Nitto 555 DR's here. It was pretty much all I had on the T/A and what my Z came with. The dry traction is worth the slow-goings in the rain to me and it rains ALOT here

There is also the Kumho Ecsta XS. Looks like a good tire. I'm not sure about the weight or mileage though.

for an all around tire i would just got with a 555, they have a better tread rating than the sumis and going by how long the sumis actually last i would have to agree, as far as the nt05's not sure but im sure either nitto will suit your needs... but by no means do i mean those two are going to stick good but stick decent and last longer, thats just my .02 though.

Never even heard of them. Interesting brand. They can be had for 200 each.

Still, I'm pretty much decided that the Nitto 555 is the one.

Thanks for all the great input guys.
