Default BF Goodrich g-Force Sport

How are these tires? Looking at them in a 255/50/16. I'm back to contemplating finding a set of five spokes, painting them some color.

I'm kinda torn, I was looking at getting the DD ZR1's, but down the road if I ever want a real good tire, 315's are way up there in price!

So curious on how the g-Force Sports perform for daily driver duties, I'm in FL so they would see a good share of rain. I also go to the drag strip a few times a year, could I cut something better than a 2.4 60' with these? That is my current best on some old Goodyear Eagles my car came with six years ago! I have some local twisties I like to hit up when I can.

I did try using the search, didn't work out so well!

That old debate, what would be better? A good tire, if these are, at 255 on all four corners, or Sumitomo's at 315 in the back and 275 up front?

I had the G Force Sports on my 87 GTA and LOVED them. They looked awesome, no road noise, lasted a while. I wish they have more available sizes because I really really liked that tire!

I was getting 1.9 60s (245/50/16) with my third gen. It wasnt an 11 second beast but it ran ok for a TPI 350..Really one of the better tires Iv owned for all around use!

I've had them on my Z28 for 3 years on 02 SS wheels and I love these things. I've auto-crossed 5 times with them, been to a fun night at the drag strip and have put about 28K miles on them, still showing about 5/32nds left.

Road noise is pretty low, I've had no issues in the rain, actually feels very poised with no hydroplaning. They also seem to wear evenly, even if you neglect to rotate them on schedule. I also have not had them be out of balance yet!

Good news so far, this might be the way I'll go about getting rid of the salad shooters. I used to have OEWheels C5 Z06's, but once I wore the tires down I didn't have funds for tires. It seems if you don't want to run something cheap like Sumitomos or Rikens, you pay out double for a 275/17 vs. a 255/16.

I have 2 BFG g-force sports for sale....but not sure it would work for you. 1 has 75-80% tread life, the other has okay tread, but is showing cord in one small spot. ($100 for both)

They are 275/40/17's (stock 10 spoke size)

Got them on my car the hook pretty good. I had some crap tires on it when I got the car and it was like night and day difference.
I like them but I do not drive the car in the rain but I think they would do pretty good. Also not sure what 60' you could cut but they do hook pretty well.

I've been running them for years, in FL as well, and they are all around great tires. They've seen everything from dry hot pavement, to pouring monsoon storms and never skipped a beat. And for the '60, the best I managed was a 2.1, but I think that says more about my skill than the tires.

I know this thread is old but I wanted to throw my .02 in. I have 275/40/17's all the way around my Firehawk and I love the tires. Good wet traction, road noise isn't bad. I don't really have anything to compare them to but I am happy with them.

im a BFG guy anyway but i had the G-force tires and werent super impressed with them but then i went to the KDW's and it was like a completely different car. my car handles better they have been to many stret races and and still have 9/32's considering ive had them on for quite awhile now.

they are also techniclly a wet weather tire and in all the crazy rain we've had here ive smashed on it in soaked parking lots just playin around and they still didnt wanna really spin. they hook amazing on the street for me also

Are you thinking of these?:

Because The G-Force Sports are These, and not a rain tire. They stick to the dry roads awesome with a stiff sidewall worked well in the autox. as far as straight line, my 275's bfg g-force "Sports" hook 3 times better than when i tried my friends mew 315 sumitomo
htr 2's on my car. They sucked
