Hooking on an 3 year old drag radial?
Been trying to find some budget tires for my car to see what it will run at the track. I found a guy with a set of bfg drag radials (the original style) but they are a few years old. They have a lot of tread left because they were on a car that sat in his garage all the time and driven rarely. Will these tires still be soft after 3 years? I have not gone to check them out yet just wondering what I should expect. Will they be better than my current new street tires or will a good burnout be all they need to get them ready?

Huge safety issue running old DR's anytime. The major enemy with any tire is age and dry rot. I use to work at a tire store and for liability reasons we couldn't sell any tire that sat on shelves over 8 months. Personally I wouldn't chance ruining your car or worst for the sake of running old tires at high speeds.
